Cyberpunk 2077
Ghost Recon Breakpoint
Outer Worlds
Camelot Unchained
Borderlands 3
Wolfenstein Young Blood Update: Refunded :D
Call of Duty Modern Warfare

A few games that are not even out but I have faith in them I probably wouldn't of picked up Youngblood if it was full price that is for sure. Everthing else looks solid though from early gameplay.

none atm

If there are some preorder bonuses I might preorder a couple days in adavance otherwise it would need to be a reasonably priced C.E. to pull the trigger on a preorder like 6+ months in advance.

Nothing at the moment. I'll likely snag Borderlands 3 prior to release since there are some bonuses, but that's it.
Cyberpunk is still a long way away and there is still plenty of time for delays. I don't really see a reason to give them a year-long interest free loan without some kind of bonus content.
I'm still waffling on the Outer Worlds. It's hard to tell if it's going to be great or horrible and the people making preview videos these days make my head hurt.

Nothing. I'll only preorder after reading reviews prior to a release and thats only so I can pre-load the game.

Nothing because preorders are pointless. If I really want a game bad enough at launch I will just buy it a couple of days before launch if its on sale. Otherwise I will just wait till day one to buy it. There is absolutely no to buy a game 6+ months before it comes out unless you are going for a limited supply collectors edition.

I've only pre-ordered a few Playstation exclusives on the PSN store directly so I could pre-download them because I knew they would live up to the hype; Uncharted 4/Lost Legacy, Horizon: Zero Dawn DLC (Frozen Wilds), God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and I'll definitely be pre-ordering Last of us 2. I pre-ordered Days Gone too and took a risk on it since it was a new IP, then ended up refunding my money on it as soon as reviews came out and saw it didn't live up to the hype (but was still a good game, just not worth $60 to me).

On PC, the only games I've pre-ordered were the Half-Life episodes, which were also PC exclusives at the time they came out. Otherwise, I agree with most of the above in that pre-orders probably do more harm than good, esp. when it comes to the stupid DLC bonuses they try to entice you with.

I quit pre-ordering quite awhile ago. Too many late, botched, crappy, over hyped releases happening anymore. I'll wait for reviews and for a game to mature a bit. Why overspend and have to wait for the 8gig day one patch only to discover it's still needs work. Eff that noise.

there's no point in pre-ordering in general but especially if a game is a long ways out...you can literally pre-order a game 1 hour before release and still get all the exact same bonus content as someone who pre-ordered 8 months ago...wait for more previews, impressions etc from sites you trust...no point in doing it any other way (unless it's a From Software game which is guaranteed to be 100% epic :D)

Preordering is for suckers.
Only time I find it acceptable is when it's a sequel to a game you really enjoyed made by a company you trust. But even then it's risk for no gain.

I don't pre order. Why give companies interest free money on games? Especially the garbage so called AAA that been released in the past 5 years. There is absolutely no reason to pre order in this day if age. Even physical copies are easy to find on release day. Crappy preorder skins and/or lame missions are not important.

I almost never pre-order because I want to know if the game is actually good and playable before I buy it. I'm glad I didn't give in to the Fallout 76 hype.

But I did pre-order Shenmue 3 because I'll play it even if it sucks.

the last and only games I preordered were Half-Life 2 and Gothic 3. I remember the preload for HL2 taking forever on my folks slow DSL. IIRC I was so excited to get my hands on G3 that I preordered the EU version to get it before the NA release.

I'd never preorder a game these days though. It's not like digital distributed games can sell out and I'd rather wait for reviews and patches. I did get Metro Exodus right after launch and it was indeed very buggy but so much damn fun I didn't mind. I also got Far Cry New Dawn soon after launch which was surprisingly not buggy but just a crap game imho, didn't even finish it.

I don't really have an issue with pre-orders if they're providing a reason for consumers to do it. It's not like a physical product that can sell out. I guess CDKeys occasionally sells out, but that's a different situation.
If they want me to give them money in advance, I'm expecting something like exclusive DLC or a discount off of the retail price. Even a discount on a season pass or larger DLC.
Otherwise, what's the point? I'm not going to give you a loan for no reason.

I haven't pre-ordered a single game. I don't see the point. I would rather see some reviews first.

I don't pre-order anything anymore as I find most games go on sale shortly after release and I don't have a tonne of free time to play at the moment. Also I've been burned in the past when EA would release games and not even patch day 1 issues or maybe release one patch within a month of release and then never get any support again. It's been probably 15 years since I got burned twice with buggy games that were abandoned after release but I learned my lesson.

Honest question for the OP (Comixbooks) - why do you pre-order so much? If you've got 7 pre-orders at the moment it's clearly something you find some value in. Do they come with memorabilia or exclusive content or something that interests you?

I might preorder FF7 Remake but that's mostly because my wife will make me, haha.

Otherwise I wait until it drops in price as I already have a major backlog of games. The games are usually patched with some DLC by the time I get around to playing them.

Don't support their muti part bs that they wont explain how it will really work. I can see them trying to milk us for 4 parts at $60 each

As some who preordered both NMS and Battleborn, I don't preorder anything anymore... Even if I do want to preorder cyberpunk :)

Any game with exclusive preorder content can go fuck itself (assuming games can do that now), at least till it's on sale with all the content for $40.

Very rarely anymore. In the past only if I think the developer deserves it, or thier games are consistent. That doesn't necessarily mean consistently good at launch. The Bethesda Elder Scrolls and Fallout gamea for instance. Will they be buggy at launch? Hell yes, but they have been using the same engine since the dark ages so fan mods can usually fix initial issues well before the devs can.

So in the past I pre-ordered:

Witcher 2 and 3

Mass Effect 2 and 3

Dragon Age 2 and 3

The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion and 5 Skyrim.

Fallout 4

X3:Terran Conflict, Albion prelude and Rebirth.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Pretty much any Total War Game since Medieval 2.

Plus a few MMO's.

Have I been burned by purely shit games that broke for months+? Hell yes, X3: Rebirth is still a broke pile of shit. It took them months to get the game in a release state.

But for the most part I received a launch game that "was as expected".

The only recent preorder has been Cyberpunk 2077.

None. Don't see a reason to and always wait for reviews.

I've got two out right now (three if you count KS). I rarely pre-order games, but if there is a game I know I'm going to buy regardless of reviews or am just confident i'll like, AND I can get a deal on it, I'll pre-order. Borderlands 3 I pre-ordered when GMG was giving out a pile of games with it. Cyberpunk 2077 I pre-ordered because between a birthday discount and a reward certificate at best buy (both of which were set to expire soon) I was able to get it for $43. I've also got Shenmue 3 backed, so if you consider that a pre-order... that'll be #3.

EDIT: Forgot about Ready or Not. I pre-ordered that at the supporter tier.. because any chance, even the slightest, of getting a good spiritual successor to Swat 4, one of my all-time favorite games... is well worth the money spent. Not technically a KS, but the same idea holds... if my money helps them deliver the game I hope it will be, I'm willing to take the risk.

Nothing pre-ordered, I usually can find it the week of its release on sale for ~25% off and I'm not really motivated by pre-order bonuses anymore so other than blindly showing faith in a dev I don't see the point, I do Kickstart projects I am enthused about.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall - Preordered with all future Expansions for ~$80 on GOG.

Why? I had the money at the time, and due to the variable nature of my pay situation at the time that could not be guaranteed to be true at the game's release (this August). There was a 10% discount on this particular package through GOG at the time. Also because I have thoroughly enjoyed every game in this series except for Age of Wonders 2: The Wizard's Throne (and that one was still pretty good). I Kickstarted Age of Wonders III. I already know by past performance that it is extremely likely that not only will I buy this game, I will buy the expansions they release for it as well.

All of that and because this one is their first game using their awesome fantasy game formula in a Sci-Fi setting and one of the playable factions uses DINOSAURS WITH FREAKIN' LASERS!!! It is ticking every single check box for me.

I post-order, about 3 years after it's been released and it's sub $10

Rebel Galaxy Outlaws. Only game I've ever pre ordered. I won't even be able to play it until a week after it comes out as I'll be out of the country but I want to support the the tiny development company.

Absolutely nothing. I don’t preorder. I did back when it was all physical media and there was high demand like the early WOW expansions. Now I wait for release day, read the reviews, and if it’s good I buy. I still get it day one but I’m not gambling my money hoping the game is as good I hoped.

I was in Gamestop today to pick up some random games for XB1X that I have coming & saw a copy of NHL 08 in the sub $5 bin. Brought it up to the counter & the system couldn't find it. "Usually the computer pulls older sport games out of inventory after a few years. This game doesn't show up in the computer, so you can just have it."
