Install instructions are at this link Below. Just download the required files and place them in your Grim Dawn Mods folder. To activate the mod in game, Select (Custom Game)

To get the latest release you must have the latest Grim Dawn Expansion, but the older version 0.4.2 will work if you only have Ashes of Malmouth.

Found out about this mod today. Looks incredible! Downloading it now. What do you think?

Looks like they are actually working on recreating D2 in Grim Dawn. Neat. Was expecting it to just be another visual and class mod that is typical for every ARPG out there.

Just got finished playing it. Its pretty awesome! Some of the Grim Dawn assets (weaponry / devotion) ect. are still present but yep, its Diablo 2.

I've had my annual hankering to play D2 recently but that 800x600 looks and feels worse every time I get a better monitor...so this looks awesome. Definitely going to give this a download tonight.

Also, not really GD-related but Path of Diablo announced the next ladder reset will be August 2nd.

I gave this a quick look last night and found it weird that items like rifles are still in the game. Also, everything was super tanky and even random fallen would take 2-3 hits to die. "Kill 25 packs in the Den of Evil" had me bored out of my mind with how tedious it was to slowly plink away at so many enemies while gaining so little exp.

Been a while since you played Diablo 2 eh? The fast pace & arcade like feel of today's games have spoiled us.:)

I will agree that its not perfect, and I do find some of the weapons / items still present from GD in the game a bit weird ( I choose to ignore them). If you talk to trade with Gheed in the Rogue Encampment, he will sell you original Diablo 2 items you can equip. I've also been lucky enough to find 3 pieces of the Sigon's already.

I am having a blast with this. Once you get to Tristram and save Deckard & then into Black Marsh, it should open up for you if you're willing to stick with it.

Cave paintings tell of pre-historic jokes about broken mouse buttons and arthritic index fingers from all the clicking in Diablo.

It's been a year or two at most...lvl 1 fallen generally die in one hit, not 2-3 rifle shots for 20-45 damage. Then I got my first skill and charged bolt was like 2-20 damage or something, which was absolutely not helpful.

Does the "veteran" checkbox do anything in this mod? I think I clicked it out of habit when I created my character and wonder if that pumped up the monster health or something.

Yes, Veteran will make the game more difficult, increasing enemy health and damage, since the mod is still using the same GD core, it works just like you would have it on in GD. I believe you can toggle it off any time you like though.
