Best Budget X570 Motherboard?

I've been reading reviews and watching VRM summaries for all the new X570 boards. I upgrade my CPU once every 8 years or so (See current 2500K) but I upgrade my video card every 2-3 years. X570 is the obvious choice because of the PCIE 4 and faster NVME drive support. My usage case doesn't require anything fancy, all I do is game and overclocking looks pretty much impossible on all the new AMD chips.

I've narrowed my selections down to the following, which would you pick and why?

MSI Performance Gaming MPG X570 Gaming Plus
Best chipset fan reviews on Reddit. Users say it's idle until the chipset hits high 50s temp and is super quiet. I can see where the chipset power fan connects to the motherboard so I suspect it may be replaceable, that's a critical feature if you plan on keeping it for 8 years! Looks like a really elegant board layout. Has optical and USB-C which I'll use for sure. The M2 is ABOVE the GPU, again smart design. VRMs sound good enough for a 3700x and 3900x, not certain about 3950 but the chances that I upgrade the CPU are pretty much non-existent. Only downside is only 6 Sata ports.

GIGABYTE X570 GAMING X
Heard a lot of concerning things about high fan speeds and noise on the chipset on reddit but apparently Gigabyte is working on a firmware update to correct this. I don't love the board layout because I don't see a front USB connector. I have an ancient Fractal Design Define XL (V2) that I want to keep using. It doesn't have optical audio out or a USB 3 V2 type B connector which are both stupid things to exclude. I'd have spend another $30 CAD to have those features which is annoying.

ASRock X570 PHANTOM GAMING 4
The Taichi has horrible fan noise and negative feedback on reddit so far. This board layout looks similar, like the fan is underneath the GPU which is pretty poor design.

ASUS Prime X570-P
Again, stupid to put the chipset fan and M2 under the GPU! These new 5000 MB NVME drives create LOTs of heat! It does have 8 sata though which I like a lot. No optical out, no usb-c... stupid.

TLDR: I'm leaning towards the MSI board. The others all seem to be missing critical features or have poor board layouts.

Buildzoid made his recommendations here...

If I were buying soon, I'd wait for the various board reviews first from either Hardware Unboxed or Tech Jesus.
/would lean (heavily) towards the ASRock Tachi
//95% likely that I will keep my X470 Tachi for at least another year as it has excellent VRM's already

I'd spend a bit more and get a better quality MB. Also these boards are way-overpriced right now. If all you do is game there's no need to be concerned about nvme drive temps either, you're not going to be heavily stressing them.

I like BZs take on features being the driver that should make a person look up the $ tiers.

If you accept x570 being globally well executed with caveats that a 16-core may need attention to airflow over the vrm heatsinks, then onboard features should be balanced with whether you want to add on your own discreet options.

Buildzoid liked that Asus VRM

His videos are pretty good if you have some patience (he rambles)

Amazing that BZ is into the x570 Tuf. Go check his x470 video where he hammers the previous Tuf. Goes to show that you have to take things on their own merits.

Ch6 didn't go over well at launch with staff here.
I gather there are some variations that make upgrading to Ryzen 2 not 100%.

If all you do is game and clock I'd argue that you don't need pcie 4.0 nvme. Higher end B550 that has a lower end x570 cut and paste would be my choice.

If they had a Strix E without the 2.5GB LAN at a lower price point, I'd have bought that board instead of keeping my X470 CH7..

The Prime PRO seems to be decent if you don't need the wifi, and want Intel LAN and higher end realtek audio.

i'd spend a little extra and go for the gigabyte ultra over the gaming X.. the 200 dollar boards are really where it's at for best cost/feature options.. most of them make the 250-270 dollar boards useless unless you really want the wifi or realtek ac1220 audio.

also check buildzoid's channel, he's been putting up video's talking about all the asus, msi, and asrock boards and which ones are similar or better buys based on prices. gigabyte one should be coming soon but he also brings them up when comparing the other boards in the videos.

One thing to keep in mind, that he bases his recommendations on Newegg price. Which at least for one board completely changes the value in EU - the ASUS Pro WS X570-ACE is $379 on Newegg, but only 310-330 euros in Europe (including 20% VAT). And that is a huge difference - 310 euros minus 20% VAT is 258 euros, which equals to $289. So there is a $90 difference (before taxes) between EU and US, in favor of EU. Even with VAT, EU price is $348-$370! In my country i even was able to score the board for 306 euros, which is another few euros/dollars less.

Ordered gigabyte x570 elite after how terrible the experience with msi b450 tomahawk was. Hope the gigabyte is good
