Price is outrageous, but I didn't think any P4's came in the 775 socket. So this is interesting, unless I am way off.
Yep. Socket 423, 478, and 775 all had p4 cpus.Lots of P4's came on 775. It was the CPU that introduced the socket.

Perfect! Didn't know that. I would usually just research it, but I'm on vacation and the kids give me zero time this early in th day! Thanks!
I thought it was the Core architecture that started 775
thanks for making me feel old Socket A for life though. Here's a reference for your enjoyment: https://www.anandtech.com/show/1361/2
True. Just built another myself. Finally got an Abit NF7-S V2.0 with a Ti 4600.thanks for making me feel old Socket A for life though.

It's hard to find a working one now at a good price. I bought this one as "For parts or not working" on Ebay for dirt cheap -- turned out nothing at all was wrong with it, almost mint condition. Besides for the heatsink being epoxied on which sucks. I was going to put my Thermaltake G4-VGA cooler on it, but I didn't want to risk damaging it. I know the freezer trick would work, but I've had mixed results. Sometimes the BGA mounting breaks from the extreme cold/warm cycle, then you have to reflow it and hope it works again.sick dude! True story. I super glued (small dots at the corners, because we're talking small package in those days) an aluminum heat sink and custom fan to my GeForce 2 GTS 64MB. The freezer trick worked the first time I needed to remove it and reapply some thermal paste. It did not work the second time. In fact, the twisting action I made caused an extremely small corner of the ceramic housing to break off. There must not have been much housing material on those gpus since even an unbelievably small amount removed exposed the die and possibly damaged it. In any event, I learned an expensive lesson that day. It's hard to find a working one now at a good price.
