Prime Day Deals

Playstation classic is $20. I got mine at $25 couple weeks ago and thought that was a steal. It is stupid easy to buy a $12 128gb USB stick and download every PS 1 game ever. if you're into that. There are other options for other emulators too (retroarch). Goto modmyclassic.com or arcadepunks.com for more details. Sony isn't making any more of these, so grab one at $20!

I'm thinking about buying another one as a gift. It's a great little emulator system (half the price of a PI 4) and comes with controllers.

I'm sure there are USB sticks on sale too. Just to screw around with what I had laying around, I used an ancient corsair 120gb SSD with a sata->usb adapter and got that working just fine. It just looks like ass :)

edit - speaking of looking like ass... most PS1 games on a 1080p or higher TV. It's about nostalgia, not pixel count LOL. Actually I found it much more playable in a small pip window on my 4k monitor. But full screen hurts the eyes.

seagate firecuda 2.5" 2tb hybrid hdd, $59. Not a super hot deal, but for whatever reason it's hard to find good deals on (new) 2.5" drives.

No gsync

Gsync is with more than 144hz in my experience.

Case in point I’ve played with gsysnc for 1.5 years. This weekend I had a LAN party and after a driver update my Gsync got turned off on Hunt Showdown, a game I’ve played for 70 hours or so. My PC only hits about 70-75fps on the game at 3440x1440 and max settings. I could immediately tell Gsync was off and I had to turn it on. It felt buttery smooth again after I turned it on with the same 70-75fps.

A 2060 isn’t going to hit 144hz period. But it won’t feel buttery smooth at 70, on a 144hz monitor just like it doesn’t feel buttery smooth at 70Fps on my 120hz 3440x1440 Alienware 34” monitor. But Gsync makes it feel buttery smooth down to the lower 40hz range to me.

Great price... I got a Dell G7 used a while ago for $850. Had to put an NVMe drive in it... but it's close to that unit, cept for the 1060 vs 2060 and a not so good display....
 
Decided to bite the bullet on the 2700X. I'll put that in the Aorus Pro (mini-ITX) until I can get my hands on a 3950X.
 
I just picked up a Moto G6 for $110 and a 512GB microsd for $53...

My Moto X Style is on it's 2nd battery & on it's last legs -- Saying "no sim card" for no reason a going from 45% to 10% battery in a minute or two.

Not worth replacing the battery for $60 at a shop when a new phone is $110.

Thats how it always is. Sometimes they rise prices above typical (days/hours before sale) - and then you get your 'sale' price cut. (including black friday, cyber monday...)
 
I got the 10TB WDC external (probably pick up a few more the next sale as well) and added a few items that were needed but not on sale.

I bought another too. for 20 bucks its a steal. Hopefully, my order wont get cancelled and they get some new stock in soon. Right now its in limbo.
 
I ordered a Moto G7 64gb unlocked phone (I use TMO) last night for $199. Should be a nice upgrade from my G5, which is still a decent phone but they stopped updating it. I can probably still sell that one for $75-100. $200 phone upgrade after 3 years, and make money selling the old one? Done and done. Only "down side" is it's usb-c and everything else in the house is microusb.

The wifey bought a Samsonite hard case luggage set for $150, seems ok from the pics. All my other suitcases have broken wheels or are just old, they can go to goodwill or a garage sale for $5.

edit - ah man I thought I'd get my stuff tomorrow but it's been bumped to Thurs. I guess AMZ shipping crews are slammed because of the sale.
 
Oh I read somewhere you can get 1 yead of PS+ for $39 but you have to add it to cart to get that price? Not bad if you need it. That makes the front page of Slickdeals whenever it's below $40

I I think I'm on my 6th update over the last 1.5 hours.....and now I get to download pie :)

My moto x pure was stuck on android 7...without even all the security updates.

It's the lowest price it's been and the only time it was this low before was black friday (11/26). They didn't raise the price prior to this price drop.

That's a decent deal depending on which one it is. My dad and I picked up 2 hardsides with free shipping for that much during father's day.

As far as the ones that have broken wheels and whatnot, if they're samsonite or american tourister and you've not had any warranty work done on them before, check that first as the warranty is 10 years on both. I had a whole new case sent to me when it was determined that it wasn't a wheel, but a structural portion fail and my wife did too.
 
Bought a 15’ skywalker trampoline for the kids on a lightning deal for a good price, bought three 5 quart containers of oil for about half price.

Thanks for the thought. They are all way older than 10 though.

Now I need to find some unique but not obnoxious stickers / decals to put on them so they are easier to identify on the luggage carousel. Big black suitcases are everywhere, LOL. I did like that my old ones are green and fairly easy to spot.

I wonder if slapping a PC Master Race sticker on it will get me a free TSA inspection every time.

I'd still try as one of mine I know was older, but as long as they still service it, they took it. I actually was going in to see if they'd just sell me the part and they took the whole thing, and 2 weeks later I had a brand new one at my doorstep. :)

For identification and additional safety, I get a baggage strap and just use that. Not only do they make identification easier, but they also saved my stuff when a bag's hinges and latches was completely destroyed--the straps held it together. (y)
 
I put strips of duct tape on mine, that stuff is so old its starting to fray now.
