Sent VRT/OldHoster $600 via Cash App for a Dell U3818DW as he doesn't like PayPal.
In hindsight I should have just offered to cover the fee.

Provided some references that I didn't follow up on -- my fault -- as he seemed trustworthy.

Timeline:
Sent $600 via CashApp on 6/4. Guaranteed delivery by 6/14.
On 6/13 -- lets me know of an issue as the item is shipping direct from Dell.
6/15 - said he would have an update from dell by Monday
6/18 - said it should ship by 6/19 or 6/20 via next day
6/20 - upon checking in he mentions he is unavailable due to a personal matter but will follow up on this today.
6/20 - request a refund due to the personal matter -- at this point he stops replying to all communication

Thank you.

Some people fall on hard times, some are scammers. I hope not the latter. Did he have good heat?

Never heard of CashApp and after reading all the reviews, I am fairly positive I never would use them...

Cash App is actually pretty solid but not intended for online trading... it's generally meant for cash transactions between friends and family. He initially wanted to use Zelle but I couldn't get it to work properly.

Cash App is made by Square, Inc. -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Square,_Inc.

I am sorry for the delayed response.

No body will believe anything here, but I will say this much, my 5 year old son's health is much more important than any of this shit!

I didn't see jack until late today.

This will be made right! It will be Monday or Tuesday at the earliest and the end of next week at the latest, not a fucking think I can do. I do not have a phone and will not until Monday or Tuesday.

This was not a scam in any way, it was a very hard times thing!

So, go ahead and blow up in public, this is just like I told you I generally don't like shipping 1 or 2 pieces, especially over $600 fucking dollars.

I am sorry but its always these little gamer type of transactions that are the most troubling. As a company I have been stiffed on contracts for 90+ days that are more than you make in a year on almost a quarterly basis.

Hey I am not going to edit the above post. I am going to cool off.

I am sorry I just totally blew up.

I have been doing eMail for the first time since mid last month, I just got a small crappy laptop today to use. I should get my phone back Monday/Tuesday of next week. When I got on this POS it took me a few hours to remotely access my home machine.

I just tried to edit to show my bank statements(to cover personal information and where I spend etc.), it is so hard on this remote connection. What it shows is I use that card daily from mid may all the way until 6/10-6/12, and from then until now it has not been used. I haven't sent or read any eMails from 6/12 until today, or texts etc etc. unless it was automatic.

I am going to send Brock something that will let him know there is something definitely wrong on that account from June on.

Life happens. Things go south for everyone from time to time. That said, I recommend you send Brock the $600 you owe him. It's the right thing to do.

things happen in life but it seems that with some buyers/sellers these issues always pop up as soon as they receive $$ for an item or need to ship something...as soon as they get $$ then they get some devastating illness, have to go to the hospital, family member gets sick, their home burns down etc...some people must be extremely unlucky

VRT has reached out and we are working towards an expected resolution by mid next week. I’ll keep this thread updated.

Just for the haters, I issued Brock the refund within a couple of hours of getting my phone.

You didn't even read much of the thread. There was hardly any hate being thrown around.

A lot of us have family too and can understand when there are family issues involved. Many of us would of been like OP and would have been patience to allow the seller to get things situated.

No one can blame OP for getting a bit worry about a seller ghosting on him with hundreds of dollars.

As indicated by VRT, we have indeed reached resolution. I thank him for making things right and even offering to go an extra mile or two to make sure I was satisfied.

I'm going to close the thread now.
