Well, that's anticlimactic. Sold out 5 minutes ahead of release.

CPU's and X570 mobos goes live 5 minutes before scheduled time, and sold out immediately. The 3900x sold out so fast I didn't even get to see the listing.

Were they limited to 1 per customer? If not, then your friendly neighborhood eBay scalper probably nabbed them.

There's balance in the world, I got a free case off a kid in Berkeley and just missed this:

I love kids burning their parents $.

I managed to get a board ordered from Amazon a few hours ago but CPUs nowhere to be found for the most part. I have everything either already delivered or ordered for my build except for the CPU

Never get lucky like that in NY. Overpriced multi year old computers galore though

I have no idea. People here love a good deal though. Didn't see anything listed on any 2nd hand markets either.
Maybe stock was super limited.

I see that the R5 3600 is back in stock... but not many.

I'm hunting zen 2 cpus and mobos but for now prices are too damn high. I'm talking about 290€ for a 3600X and 300+€ even for asrock mobos. I hope prices will drop with shops receiving supplies.

About those free parts...wow.

I managed to get a 3700c from NE but am mad the 3800x is nowhere to be found. Had I known if the new power control scheme AMD is using I would have paid extra for that 105W TDP vs the 65W of the 3700x.

3800x was a paper launch. There were only a handful of reviewers got their hands on 3800x.

Yeah I get that. That's what I am complaining about. I knew the 3800/3900s would sell quickly, hell even the 3700x considering their value, which is why I was on the hunt for a 3800x.

Had AMD made it known, coupled with the info we have learned from TheStilt, I would have either waited for a 3800x or purchased a 3900x.

I would not have purchased a 3700x. The cherry picked die and higher TDP of the 3800x would have been worth it I think.

I got an email from my E-tailer syaing they got TWO R9 3900X'...

2 whole CPU's... talk about a shortage. Lucky I got one of them.

And they are listing now both the AMD Ryzen 3 3400G with Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics and Wraith Spire Cooler. US$ 179
and AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics and Wraith Stealth Cooler. US$ 114
Keep in mind that the US$ 499, 3900x costs US$ 601 here.

That Ryzen 3 3200G looks like a killer CPU for HTPC's I'd think. You could be up and running for around US$ 300 fully kitted out.

I missed the first batch of 3900x at local microcenter but Tuesday they apparently got another batch and I got lucky clicking through their website. Reserved one for pickup and headed out after work.

Will put it into my main rig and swap out the 2700x (currently with Wraith RGB cooler) and maybe use my old H100 AIO cooler I have lying around. The pics some have posted with bad contacting OEM Wraith Coolers makes me think even an old AIO cooler (with good contact) will be better than a new OEM cooler with bad contact.

Would be interested in some thermal paste spread pictures if you get around to testing both.

I'll compare between the Wraith RGB that came with my 2700x and the newer one that came with the 3900x. I don't think there were any changes AFAIK but maybe the build quality might be different.

I'll definitely check the level on both to see if there is any bigger than usual gaps. I've always thought the multiple pipe design (on the mating surface) was kind of odd, compared to the solidly flat plates on any of my other fan-type coolers or AIOs.

3800x has been in stock on Newegg all day today. I opted to get a 3800x rather than wait for 3900x to come in stock.
