Faulty HDMI cable?

Just got a Sapphire 480 to replace my ancient GTX 660 graphic card. Since my monitor can do 75hz through HDMI, i switched from DVI using an Amazon Basics cable, but i have one wierd problem. Everything looks fine, except for blue colors, which all show different degrees of piexalation. I'm looking at my large Office and Microsoft Edge icons on the Windows 10 menu, and the Office one is smooth red whereas the Microsoft Edge one you can see the pixels, which is pretty bizzare to look at, since its so specific.

Could the HDMI cable be defective? The 480 was used i'm worried maybe it has something to do with. Don't have a spare HDMI cable to try, i'd have to go buy another one. Just wondering if this is something that's known to be possible.

Its possible you are either using ycbcr 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 colour.
Try and change to RGB full or ycbcr 4:4:4

If you cant change it, explain what options you have and what is greyed out.

Also check you are using the native res of your monitor.
If you are using a lower res that would explain seeing pixels.
If there is an overscan option on the display make sure it is turned off.

I have no option to change ycbcor, this is a computer monitor.

Keep in mind, it is only one color (light blue). Everything else looks fine. That's what makes me suspect there's something off with the cable, it's just oddly specific.

I'll let someone else help, you ignored most of my post.

Well, it's mostly because you seem to have ignored the issue.

The problem is only in one color. That to me suggests something is wrong with the cable and i was only wondering if this is something that can happen with HDMI.

Lower res would affect the whole screen, not just one color. Same with any ycbcr setting, which my monitor does not have. Overscan is also grayed out and is off by default.

I have no similar issue if i use my DVI cable, only on HMDI. I guess i'll just go buy another cable and see if i get the same issue. Only way to rule out if the cable is faulty.

You are here wanting your problem to be diagnosed because you dont understand it yet didnt give anything to help the diagnosis.
Look up colour issues with 4:2:0 colour.
It could be a cable issue causing your gfx card to revert to using 4:2:0 or it might be something else entirely, I think the latter but its good to rule out the basics.
Good luck.

Can you capture it with a screenshot? If yes, then obviously it would not be a cable problem.

Sorry, didn't really mean to argue, that came off harsher than it should have. I do of course appreciate the attempt to help. Out of curiosity, where do i check this ycbcr setting if i don't see it in the monitor or the graphic card options (i have an AMD card)?

Well i'll be damned, that worked. I took a screen shot and loaded it on my phone, and no pixels there. So i guess that means it is the cable?

No, it could be your display that is f'ed. Or your graphics card output. Which neither a screenshot would show.

But yes, it could very well be the cable. Can you not try a different one? I'm sure it should be extremely easy and cheap to come across a different HDMI cable. Probably easier than creating a thread here.

Probably. But it's such a bizzare problem i thought i had to share it. I'm looking at my desktop background and whenever the picture gets close to that particular shade the pixels begin to show up. Kinda trippy.
