Steam Summer Sale June 25th

Pathfinder Kingmaker is only 19.00 probably one of the best games of the lot if you like RPGs

I think I'm fine with the four purchases I made at a sum of $20. I really don't think I'll buy much more than maybe a few that hit the sub-$2 mark.

These are problems one faces when you own almost everything you want. I don't buy Ubisoft games...so, it's like, eh.

Basically when you own everything you want you don't even play the games but sit on them. Then like a year later you start playing it for a while but never finish it. The last game I finished I think was Divinity Original Sin just because it was a good game.

My steam list is so large now that I don't get too excited for the sales. Too many games I still have to finish on my backlog, haha. Unless something is dirt cheap I won't bite. If I buy it now, it'll probably be dirt cheap by the time I get around to playing it.

Sales really aren't that good. Some of the games had been discounted more rather recently. Thought they had returned to having flash sales last winter, but looks like they dropped it this time. And no Steam trading cards for voting today? Damn, can't even muster up 30 cents off my next purchase. Feels a bit like Steam as a whole... it has lost, uhm, steam. :p

Was waiting for the Ace Combat 7 DLC to go 50% off but looks like I'll be waiting a while.

Flash sales haven't been a thing since they introduced refunds a couple of years ago. There did not have any flash sales during the last winter sale and I doubt they will ever return to that format again because of the refund policy.

People can say what they want about the trading cards but I don't mind them. It kinda sucks that they dropped them and the voting for this sale. That was really the only thing that kept me coming back everyday in the past. They do have some sort of mini game type thing going on where you can earn points by doing things in certain games but I haven't looked into it much yet. It seems a lot more time consuming then the voting was though.

I picked up Space Tyrant last night for 5 bucks. I've seen it recommended on a few strategy sites and forums over the past year. Always avoided it because it looked to basic and simple.
Surprised at how much I'm enjoying it. Not a complex strategy game but it is fun.

I'm fine with the steam sales. I have no problems waiting until a game hits my price point. I generally find several games every sell for 75-80% off. I can't complain about that.

What do trading cards even do? I notice that Steam issues them here and there like achievements, but I don't really understand their functionality.

level up games(in steam) and increase your "gamer" score for epeen.

I'm on Team Corgi you have to play games in order to get your level up and you can get 5.00 off a game if you have like 12,000 points which means you don't have a life and have to play games for a week straight for the sale.

You can also sell them on the marketplace to make some money. The only go for like 5-10 cents but if you have a bunch of them it adds up quick. Its a pretty easy way to get a few bucks off of a game you want to buy.

I'm eyeing Star Control Origins.

Now that they've resolved the IP dispute, this game will actually be supported. And the recent patch fixes the shitty-looking graphics, and adds back the Arilou.

For ten bucks, I'm suddenly tempted by a surprise. Not going to jump until I have some time to play this weekend.

You don't even need to do that. Just find a game you've already unlocked a lot of achievements for, play it for 30 minutes, and you get an easy 20k-30k points.

No idea, I just sell them. In the past I'd make $2-3 per sale event, now it is closer to around $1 due to how quickly people sell them for cheap. But still, I'll take $1 or so off my next purchase.

I ran three games Borderlands 2, Duke Nukem Forever, and Divinity OS to get my points wasn't sure how to do it you just use them on your animal team like Corgi the dog and they turn into tokens so you can get a 5.00 discount. Way better than those silly trading cards =)

Decided to use the 5.00 on either Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 Chaos DLC or Vermintide 2 I used the 5.00 on Battlefleet 2.
Even though Vermintide 2 is still popular a year later I don't think it can dethrone the original.

Some of us are stationed in Alaska. So...yes, I have time.

They got me for Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor and another copy of Rocket League.

The problem is if you don't finish the game in the allocated time you have to pay a lot more. That is how these games are being designed, with subscriptions and games as a service in mind. Don't fall for it. Pay once, keep it forever, have a coherent experience from day one.

Subscriptions may look good now but they'll end up screwing us in the long run.

With Humble Bundle Monthly at least since they are a third party that just gives keys, you get to keep them even after you unsub.

I see that the two Divinity Original Sin games are on sale right now. I can't help but notice that they have like 500 pieces of DLC and multiple version bundles as well.

Anyone have insight as to which versions contain everything?

The 1st one is better if you ask me.

I bought Heroes of Might and Magic V for $2.49 after selling Steam Cards. I'm done, lol.

I bit on the two Divinity Original Sin games. Most of the other versions have things I don't want (soundtracks, maps, art, etc.) so I just bought the most comprehensive versions of both games. Total was $35'ish so it wasn't a great deal, but not a horrible one.
Since both heavily advertise controller support, I might give 'em a shot that way. They seem like KB/M games, but I do appreciate being able to lean back and relax instead of sitting up all the time.

I just noticed a release date has been set for Hunt: Showdown for the end of August 2019 for PC and Xbox, price will go up to $39.99.

I normally hold off on EA purchases these days, and have have not played any competitive FPS since TF2 started selling hats but $22.49 is really tempting.... about 37 hours to decide.

I ended-up picking up RIVE: Wreck, Hack, Die, Retry! It's a dual-stick shooter / platformer with sexy-smooth control ((A* worked pretty well for me). You get infinite lives, there are lots of checkpoints (I love it that you don't have to replay for long when you end-up constantly dying)

I'm not sure I'd pay 15 bucks for this linear game, but for three bucks It's a steal.

Not looking good for steam.if the only game I bought was the Chaos dlc for Battlefleet gothic Armada 2.

50 percent of the games I want are on Epic, Battlenet or Uplay if the Epic launcher gets that makeover and Reviews it will pick up momentem. Basically Borderlands 3 launching on Epic sealed it. Then UBI's snobbish move also sealed it.
