1TB Intel 660p NVMe $88

If you are buying for a desktop definitely spend a little more and grab one of the many drives that have the Phison e12 controllers.

This drive works fantastic. I have it installed in my Asrock B350 Gaming Fatality mITX board with a Ryzen 2600 and it is very fast. For that price, you cannot beat it.

For anyone doing normal PC tasks such as using a browser, listening to music, and PC gaming, this drive is just as good as the rest and is of tremendous value. For those who do multimedia editing/production or any storage extensive tasks (including heavy writes), move on as this isn't your drive. So to sum it all up, is it worth it? That all depends on its intended use case.

So, no go for an OS drive, but good as extra storage on a gaming/light productivity PC?

It's fine as an OS drive if you aren't writing Huge 30-100GB files to it with the drive 3/4th full. These drives use dual NAND, they have a fast SLC cache (I think it's 128-256GB cannot remember exactly) that data is written into quickly. It is then written into the slower QLC NAND (WHICH is still faster then any HDD)...

Ideally, if you had dual M.2 slots, I would do like I did when drives were pricey....use a smaller 256-512GB fast SSD for your OS, and one of these instead of a slow 1TB spinner.

To be clear , I do not own this drive, just use a 256GB 970EVO and a larger SATA SSD for stream.

No it's fine as long as you're not moving tons of data all the time. So a normal use, or gaming PC will be fine. When you start getting into pro-level 4K and up media creation, then you'll have an issue. The Linus video posted Engr62 mentions this at the end.

That's nuts. I bought the 2tb for the same price I paid for a 1tb last week direct from amazon.

I'll be sending that one back and keeping the 2tb.

Thinking about getting in on the 2TB deal. My iCloud storage allocates a lot space, and it can't be separate from the OS drive.
This will give me enough space and still run apps. I'll use other SSDs for scratch disks to edit video.

I'm seeing 140 for the 2tb, still a really good deal, nevermind now its 194....

Must have gotten lucky, my order still shows up at 102 in my amazon purchases page. Hasn't shipped yet, but has a delivery date of 7/9 - 7/12, so that's to be expected.

Yeah, maybe it was a limited number form that seller.

Mine has a status of "pre-shipped" but there's a tracking number and everything. Hoping it actually goes out today.

Mines out for delivery today... Will report back on if they actually sent a 2tb later :)

I got mine on saturday. Hell of a deal.

Glad to hear it! :) I'm thinking about keeping my 1tb as well, and just taking out my 256 that came with the laptop. I haven't had much luck imaging windows from 1 drive to another, though. Not sure I want to do yet another windows reinstall.

The intel data migration software works well in my experience.

Thank you, that worked amazingly well.

Up and running with the 2tb as primary and the 1tb as storage. Man, that was an epic get. I never get in on deals like that, so I'm very very happy :) Now to install ALL THE GAMES.
