Are all modern video cards still Win7 compadible?

While I started using Windows 7 on my main pc since the RC and I really loved it. I wouldn't go back from windows 10. Not to say its a perfect OS, far from it. But it has come more mature with every update and its good enough not to consider switching back much less going linux.

What's wrong with the Linux option? I feel like folks are hiding something from me about Linux.

Linux currently offers everything windows does, but with unfamiliar software. This causes most to avoid using it because they are comfortable, which to me if a valid reason. Most want to load up the OS and use familiar things.

That said, programs and features are coming to Linux daily and the gaming separation is dwindling.

My only real issue with Linux these days is the lackluster help when you do need it. You are expected to read a daunting manual before you dare ask for help. OR you are told "why do that? It's dumb".

Outside of that, it's very useable.

In 2015 on my 4790K I was getting nearly double the frame rate in CS:GO using Windows 7. I would certainly hope that isn't the case anymore, that was day 1 Win10. I've kept that rig on Windows 7, but come Ryzen upgrades in the next month or two I'm switching to Windows 10.
Because getting 500 FPS is super important when the network latency is 25x slower than the frame time of the game, and the sample-and-hold of the 240 Hz monitor you're playing on is twice as slow as each frame.

Answer was response to question asked above my post asking for any evidence of 7 being faster than 10. Doesn't matter if it mattered for actual use.

Also, the drops were into the lower 100s for me which was noticeable on a 144hz monitor. Ping doesn't matter when movement becomes choppy and makes game a nuisanse to play. Most everyone I know who was big into CS stayed away from win10 in 2015.

its just not for me. tried it many times for years. always end up goint back to windows

Am running Win7 x64 with the latest drivers for my RX580 8gb, attached to an Asus Sabertooth Mark 2 z97 board. Runs smooth for what it is. Just make sure your Windows 7 and mobo drivers are updated and you shouldn't have any issues.

Yep I like Win7 x64 Pro very much, including XP Pro in VM mode. Really great product.
The insecurity thing is attached to web surfing, using cloud systems and all that stuff. If you just run some programs, especially professional problems with no link to internet use, there are 0 security risks. I still use W2k Pro and it simply works with no trouble and it has been so for the past 20 years on that computer. I'm using it with Word 97 and publishing my bills and Excel 97 for my accounting, printing on a Canon i865 (who I estimated has printed around 100 000 pages) and connected to an Umax scanner 1200S (SCSI). I'm too lazy to move all this for no reason to another computer.

Really your windows 7 box shouldn't be connected to the internet any more. Without solid security updates it won't be long until users like you that insist on running a deprecated OS will be the security hole the rest of us have to fear. I have enough of that I have to deal with during corporate Mergers and buyouts. I really don't need Joe user who loves their windows seven getting on my network and breaking shit.

Sigh... Sorry I'm a bit bitter about that it may have come across stronger than I really wanted.

And your 12k internet connection is SLOWER THAN DIALUP. Geezus man I think I have a 56k modem in a box somewhere I'll send you. It'll quadruple your speed!

Is 12k internet even a thing? Maybe he meant 128K which is still slow but I'm just sayin.
