MS Edge crashes if it's left open

Anyone else find that if you leave edge open for several days (maybe a week), it crashes? I think it happens when my PC goes to sleep or is woken up, but I'm not sure.

Please, don't say use another browser. This isn't my primary browser, but I keep a few things open in it in a private window (as well as run FB in a non-private browser). Everything else is in waterfox.

Just wonder if this is a known issue or if anyone has a fix for it. I find it annoying to have to log back into the pages ever few days.
 
I've never left Edge open for days so I don't know about that specific issue...but you can always go into the settings and have Edge open up each time with your previous Tabs
 
You should not open Edge at all let alone leave it open.
 
Why so? It's moving, if not already moved, to the Chromium code base so not much different than running Chrome (substitute Microsoft spying vs. Google spying).

what auntj said and no not yet. you still have to download the chromium based edge, its not automatic. still beta(at best) iirc.

So you're actually claiming Edge is a good browser worth using? ROOOOFL! Get a grip.
 
Anything in the 'Event Viewer' right after a crash?

I keep a handful of browsers open for days on end, and haven't noticed Edge being any worse than Chrome or FF in stability.

I don't see anything on the 16th or 17th. I do see errors for Edge and claims that it terminated the program, but I can't tell if it's a point where it actually shut down (I didn't think to check when it happened, but I see one for the 18th and AFAIK, it didn't crash then.

It also says to look at Security maintenance control panel, but I'm unclear what I"m looking for there...perhaps it's because it says Edge/windows quit interacting? Next time it crashes I'll check the event browser and see if I see anything of use
