Destiny 2

The Wendigo grind seems especially harsh, even for a pinnacle weapon. I know you can cheese it a bit with the Blind Well thing, but you're still looking at several mind-numbing hours of that lol.
It's worth it. "The New Ghallahorn". I hate Grenade launchers, but this thing is a PvE MONSTER.

Let me tell you about our lord and savior The Mountaintop.

I really have 0 interest in going for Mountaintop. I have more than enough fantastic kinetic weapons.

I never really used grenade launchers until I went for Wendigo. Went from 0 to ~2,500 kills on the fighting lion in one night. Didn't have any clan members on to do the blind well either. Straight up just ran what felt like a 1,000 strikes. Gun is GREAT though and gives me another option besides hammerhead to free up an exotic slot.

So my buddy and I installed this. Wow, this game has changed a lot. I'm pretty blown away. I played all weekend and I'm hopelessly addicted. I've got so many questions for you guys that I seriously need get in a discord chat or something lol.

So is the best way to farm Wendigo to wait until you get the strike at the dreaming city and then instead of doing the strike go to the blind well?

Keep in mind, The Mountaintop is miles better than anything else in that slot from utility in PvE perspective. The damage is unmatched. I have the interest, just no drive to actually sit through that grind. If I get it, it'll be in a year at this rate. Its SUCH a slog.

Through this and Wendigo however, I have new found love for the Fighting Lion and have a hard time taking it off. Militia's Birthright/Fighting Lion/Wendigo might be my forever Strike loadout.

I think about jumping into this game for the first time and it scares me how much there is and how overwhelming it would be. Then again, when you're that new, you don't know what you don't know so maybe its not that bad. You'll discover it all naturally.

Yep, and its better if you're in a fireteam all with the same idea. If you go in solo, your blueberries might finish the strike and you'll be yanked out.

Still can't seem to find a good warlock gear/card combo to roll on Prison of Elders nightfall solo. Bleh. Got a little more efficient last night, but screwed at the mine defusing.

If you're just trying for the completion and not the 100K, Solar and Heavyweight with a 0 handicap is as easy as its going to get.

I'd say Well of Radiance with Phoenix Protocol just for survivabilitys sake.

Just trying to get a stab at Warden's gun. Not sure if that requires 100k or not. Was on grenadier, momentum, and about 175 handicap.

Solar and heavy weight with 0 handi cap? I'll try that then.

So the way Nightfall specific weapons work is the chance they have to drop is higher the higher score you achieve. You can achieve higher scores by increasing the handicap and applying those negative modifiers which adds to the score multiplier.

There are 2 Powerful rewards for Nightfalls each week. Just a completion with any score at all, and one for 100k+ points. If you're interested in just the completion at least to start, you can just lower the handicap and put on positive multipliers like Heavyweight to give you an advantage just to get through it.

Huh, a few hundred hours in the game and I had no idea your score affects your drop chance on the weapons. Granted, I've generally had good luck getting them, so I probably never cared about the drop rate haha.

Your score matters, but you can still get the drop with a low score. Also, having the emblem for that strike equipped helps as well. I believe there is "bad luck protection" with those as well. Each time you complete the strike without the drop improves your chances of getting it. I don't think I've ever gone more than 4 or 5 runs without the drop happening. I've probably done the Warden of Nothing about 10 to 15 times and I've got three Warden's Law hand cannons.

Does [H] have a D2 group chat or anything? Any veterans willing to answer some noob questions for me?

Not that I know of, but we are happy to answer whatever questions you have.
Sweet thanks man! So I'm lvl 40. I think i finished the curse of osiris and warmind, not sure..The wiki sites said that completing the campaign gives you exotics, i didn't get any. Did I not finish or has something changed? I'm about to start forsaken now, is that what I should be doing?

You have to complete various conversations after the main campaign to get the exotic reward. Also, its the same for the Curse of Osiris and Warmind. They'll give you them as well. Completing Forsaken does not. I'd complete the two year one expansions prior to getting into Forsaken, but you do not have to do it that way. You probably should to get your light level where it needs to be though.

Snagged a version of Warden's Law on my second go around. Went Crown of Tempest, breakneck, rando buffed up arc auto rifle, and thunderlord.. Got caught up in a few stupid spots, but made it easier.

Card was arc singe and heavy weight.

Also had the nightfall specific banner on.

May go run for the Mindbender shottie over the Pyramidian's sniper rifle.

Double primary's, and auto rifles at that! Bravo! Self imposed handicap but you made it work :-P

There is no shortage of Powerful's right now, that's for sure. Just hit 750 across all 3 toons with a nice reserve of infusion fuel.

Now, tomorrow to hit Crown of Sorrow on my Titan and Hunter. Yikes.

I'm about to hit 740 on two characters. I haven't bothered to level my Warlock yet. It's still at level 32.

My playtime has decreased significantly since I started the new job. My warlock is 730 something, Titan and hunter sitting at 700. I have a ton of weapons in the bank for quick LL boosts when I decide to level them.

Did a bunch of IB last night, and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't completely full of Lord of Wolves abusing apes. Definitely saw a few, but I honestly expected much worse. I love IB week for leveling, though. 7 extra powerfuls is awesome. I think I'm up to 720 or so now. Just came back to the game last week, and the new baby has sucked most of my gaming time away, so I think I'm going pretty quickly.

Seems I have done too many strikes.. Going after the DFA nightfall (and I noticed this in other nightfalls) that I fall into my usual habit running through those and sort of roll one way or the other assuming I have two other folk doing the same. Whoops.. this is solo. Having to be a little less aggressive.

Oh well.. Sitting at a 2700ish average, and one day I will be able to separate activities and number of people in them so I can be better.

A few more runs for the RNG to get the gun... and a week of pouting for not having Strange Terrain.. again..

Warlock CoS robes are awesome. Love this color scheme.

Got Wendigo tonight after luckily finding another two people who were cool sitting in the boss room in the Insight Terminus strike farming kills. If you step on the plate then step off, adds spawn out of the portals. Rinse and repeat.

FALL EVERVERSE CHANGES
https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47935

As of this September, all Eververse armor is being converted into Universal Ornaments. These Universal Ornaments can be applied to all of the Legendary armor sets we’re releasing this Fall. They override the look of your equipped gear while preserving the perks, mods, and stats of the original item.

Any Eververse Armor you have acquired in your Collections will have its Universal Ornaments automatically unlocked for use on new Legendary armor. For example, if the song in your heart is to have your Titan roll with the 2018 Tin Man-esque Festival of the Lost Helmet, you can put it on any of the new Legendary armor coming to the game this fall.

As it should have been from the start. The actual notes are longer than this of course.

My bet is this is going to be an oft repeated refrain from all of us about a lot of things once the "big switchover" has finally taken full effect.

ADD:

I'm a big fan of Warden's Law. It's my go to non-exotic hand cannon.

This gun is gaining my respect but I want to also make another plug for a "god roll" Duke MK 44. Truesight, Outlaw, Rampage, Your mod of choice (I put backup mag on)... Masterworked.

Unbelievable. I'm a space age Dirty Harry with this thing.

I have a Duke .44 like that but for some reason, I am far better with Warden's Law. I typically hate 110rpm hand cannons but Warden's Law doesn't feel as slow even though it certainly is.

I used it yesterday and had the same reaction. It felt faster than "it should have been" which is fine by me. I don't know if a "god roll" is possible with it. If it is, I definitely would like to see that.

Higher than normal handling Stat? I have an Outlaw/Rampage roll in the vault from ages ago that I might take a look at again.

Yeah, I've actually seen Feeding Frenzy and Rampage on Warden's Law. Not mine of course, but there are a lot of good perks it can roll with.
