I kind of feel bad for how cheap this sold for. My keep an eye on this bid won, setup a snipe for no reason lol.

I'm pumped to have a piece of [H] history to display. Thanks for posting Erek

It's a press sample, not really any different than the OEM part, with the exception of maybe the bios being pre release code. So, with a broken cooler, it sold for the right money!

Review hardware is generally pretty close if not identical to retail hardware. This isn't always the case. There were some differences between my sample Intel D5400XS and the production model, but for the most part the hardware has always been the same. I have worked with pre-production AMD video cards once before and it had a slightly different BIOS. That was it.

The card came Friday, Kyle was awesome and signed it. I'm ecstatic to have some [H]istory to display. Now I have to find something to do with the other 290 already in my collection lol.

On a serious note, he does still have a bunch of GPUs listed if anyone is really interested in getting themselves some [H]istory. (including a 290x press sample I probably would have bid on if I saw it first.) I just asked via ebay questions if he would and reminded during checkout to be safe.

how much to part with it? being that it's signed an all

I thought you were joking, I can't imagine it adds any value other than sentimental. Especially when he has other cards for sale still. I don't think I would part with it TBH. It's not often I find something I want to have in my collection at a price I can afford.

Lurking on [H] has been a part of my routine for the last 10+ years. From buying parts, arguing politics, defending our F@H spot, whining for a mining sub-forum (that's now dead lol), I'm going to miss this place if it ever goes down. Having piece of it on my shelf will always be cool.
