I'm picking up a Phanteks EVOLV ITX this afternoon that only comes with a rear exhaust fan.
The front supports 3 fan configurations:
  • 2x 120mm
  • 2x 140mm
  • 1x 200mm
I know that 2x 140mm will be more efficient than 2x 120mm but not how much of a difference it will make.
Is 2x 140mm much better than 1x 200mm or is the 200mm better because although the total surface area 400mm vs 560mm, the 200mm fan is wider?

2x 140mm fans will move as much air as 3x 120mm fans of same design. I don't know of any 180-200mm fans I would want to use in a build, and besides there are very few cases designed to us 180mm and 200mm fans. That said, SilverstoneTech make some okay big fans, and the new Noctua looks like it might be decent.

That's a good point. I will look into grabbing 2x 140mm.

For the same air flow, the smaller the fan, the more noise it will make. That's the tradeoff you make.

I've seen some small fans move a lot of air, but sound like a hairdryer doing it.

PHanteks PH-F140MP are good and depending on where you live can be quite reasonably priced or rather expensive. They do special pricing on 2-pack and 3-pack. Here 2-pack can be had for £16.26 making themonly £8.13 each. Probably the best out there are be quiet! Silent Wings 3 and new Noctua NF-A12x25, but they are also very pricey. Low cost but with good pressure rating and thus good airflow are Arctic F and newer Arctic P series fans.

I can't find the fan packs on Amazon or eBay UK.

If thats the same one I saw in person, the front is very restrictive, in that the front is flat with only small vents around the sides of the front panel. To make it worse, that panel is recessed in even closer to the fan, making even more restriction. Most 200mm fans are not that great and are bad at any sort of pressure or restrictive setup. 120 or 140 would be the choice here, I would probably go with a pair of Noctua NF-A12x25 fans as they do very well in areas like this.
