Hey all, I'm looking for a great pair of wireless headsets to use with my PS4. I've looked at reviews on Amazon but would love some feedback from the community.
Thanks

I use wired plugged into the controller.
I haven't used any wireless with the PS4, as the ones I have aren't compatible.

Yup, I just use my Sony MX1000 M3s with the cable to my controller. It was mildly annoying that Sony won't let me use them wirelessly though on their own console despite costing more than any of their own licensed wireless headsets. But I'd say I could just get some BT dongle for it to go wireless, it just seems it would be a hacky solution and not work as well as just plugging into the controller, which at least isn't leaving a trip wire on the floor and is a semi-wireless solution still.

I recommend the PS4s official wireless headset, the Sony Golds.

I refuse to spend $300 on a headset(Cough Cough Astro A50's) for a $200 to $300 machine.

The new model just came out in the last year or so and they've been superb for me.

7.1 audio, easy to set up, comfortable, durable, sound is solid, chat/game volume mix on the fly, internal mic to avoid clutter and it looks good. They also work very well on PC.

Also to mention, these bands fit really big heads with ease. I've had multiple Turtle Beach headsets that have snapped on me due to my overly sized head. These are strong, light and feel just as new today as from the first day of using them over a year ago.

The cups slide up and down on the head band, unlike most headsets where you adjust the band itself, which results in less force on the curves of the band, less likely to snap. It's a genius way of adjusting to your size.

You can also download the headset app on the PS4 to customize its sound to your liking and the game that you're playing. No other headset brand has a PS4 app.

The only real downside to these are its battery(8 to 10 hours), in which you can swap out for a better battery found on Amazon in about 5 minutes for around $10-$12. With the new battery I swapped, I get around 15 to 17 hours of use. The Range is mediocre. Range is only around 20 to 25 feet before getting disconnected.

You can easily find these on sale for around $80 now.

My go to recommendation for a PS4 wireless headset.

$75 at Walmart is a steal.

Reviews on Walmart are shite, but check out Bestbuy and others for results. The Sony Gold headset should be more than sufficient for your needs.

Just ordered that, thanks. I needed a headset for my PC too and it looks like that works good on PC as well.

I love this headset, but be warned, they are prone to plastic cracking on the sides of the head "strap" thing. Ive been through 3 in my house since the PS3 version as well. same issue.

On the new version?

The old ones I agree were built like crap.

yeah, new ones as well.

Huh, I'll keep an eye on that.

They're definitely a lot more solid than the previous ones. Do you have pics of the cracking you're talking about?

From my understanding, the new frame is entirely metal, the old ones were all plastic.

Just to throw my 2 cents in, I have the 2014 A40s (I think they were $200 or $250 at the time). They’re not wireless (sorry op) but in the past 5 years have not had a single issue. There is something to be said for the money spent, to me they sound great, are built solidly and hold adjustments, and the microphone can switch sides. Comfortable for all day wear.

All that in mind, maybe check out the A20s. $120 on amazon and wireless. Wired A40s are $150 (more with mixamp included) but there is a deal on the Xbox branded version for $120.

Just got my Gold Headset and figured out that they also work with the Switch too, both docked and undocked if you have a USB A to C adapter, which is cool.
