R5 1600 going to bottleneck a Rift S?

I recently sold my gaming PC with an R5 2600 OC'd to 4.1 ghz, since I was barely using it. This was with running an Oculus Rift CV1. I purchased, on a whim, the Rift S last week after getting it for $324 from the Lenovo/ebates sale. It should be here in a few days, so I need to build a new PC to run it with.

Seeing how the 2600 is roughly 10% faster clock-for-clock compared to the 1600, and how the Rift S only renders 80fps and not 90fps like the CV1 (11% reduction), do you think a 1600 with a mild overclock (3.8-4) would handle the Rift S without problems? I need something now, and Micro Center has the 1600's for $79 - $30 motherboard combo, so $50 effectively. This will be paired with a 1080Ti I just picked up dirt cheap. Or, do I spend another $60 and get another 2600?

Thanks.

The 1600 should be fine. Spend the $60 on a better graphics card. You'll want at least a 1080.

1600 is fine, don't waste money on a 2600, zen2 will be here july 7th just get that if you want to get a CPU

I built it and it's not even breaking a sweat playing In Death with my 1080Ti and Oculus Rift S. I haven't even bothered to overclock it yet.

Thanks again!

Question, is it using all six cores "equally" utilized? Or you see the last two cores at a marked lower percentage than the first two?

And "not breaking a sweat", means what? ~60% ?

It's using all 6 cores (all 12 threads) pretty equally. I'd say average usage is around 20%.
