My bad it opens on the 31st at Disney Land as well it opened yesterday at Disney World.
Correction: Disneyland opening is tomorrow.
World opening is later on this summer. Unless they changed the date literally yesterday, which I know they did not.

Hmm a west coast friend of mine was at the cast preview (no photos); he mentioned getting a forearm cramp lol from the ride.Dunno if it was specifically that Millennial Falcon ride (unless there's another space ship ride?)
Stuff like cantina, blue milk, QSR, and hot dog wrap were already up and running.

Are you sure it wasn't a heart attack from the boner?

"She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts". The Falcon was always my favorite space ship, the Colonial Viper was a close second. I loath disney but this may be too awesome to pass up.

Sounded like 6 people at a time...ouch.
6 people per experience, but construction photos showed at least a half dozen cockpit pods within the show building. If I had to guess they have enough capacity to do about 1800 riders an hour.

For now, that is the only ride. My understanding is they expect that you can do the entire world in about 2 hours (which, I believe, is the time limit for the first few months).

Current limit for the land is 4hrs, I think the cantina has a 2 hr limit.

Looks like it would probably be fun. However, I rode Body Wars and Star Tours at Disney World in 1990 and based on that first video, it appears that the graphics are of the same quality.

They've been using the same hardware and software for these rides for 30 years. Seems there's a lack of progress in amusement park tech, although this stuff is mostly re-purposed training equipment.

I love Disneyworld. We tend to go cooler times a year. We will be going to visit when the rest of the Star Wars attractions are up.

I'm only a 30 minute drive from Disneyland, but haven't been to Disneyland for years.
Too expensive and way to crowded.
Can't even imagine how crowded the Star Wars area will be.

Maybe I'll go in a few years after the crowds have thinned out.

For me; going to Disney world is like entering a portal to hell. Reminds me of the final judgment. Queuing up with a bunch of people that can't distinguish fantasy from reality, it is 110* degrees, 99% humidity, line a mile long.
Not signing up for that.
I'm going to assume you're going to Disney World, since I'm pretty sure Disney land is rarely humid (though I assume summer can get hot). That said, even for Disney World, if you go in the winter, it's gonna be pretty pleasant. If I go, it'll be in the middle of the week when school is in session :D

For now they have limits on how many can go in and you have to have gotten a reservation (maybe won a lottery) to get a ticket to enter. After that, there's no time limit and I don't think there's a limit on how many can enter. I think going during the week when school is in session is the only hope at it not being a total PITA.

Why? Odds are there won't be anything I haven't had before.
They'll probably be Cantina Brews...odd colors and I wouldn't be shocked if they had some brewed exclusively for Disney, but will they be good and is any flight of beers worth 75 bucks? Probably not.

If it's full pints, then maybe, given the standard 12 - 14$ price per pint. If it's 4oz pours like most places, then I got no idea where that number comes from. I know the 42$ cocktail comes in a souvenir glassware, which explains it's price in comparison to everything else, so perhaps the flight is the same way?

Can't lie though, the lightsaber build experience makes me wonder if I could rationalize the cost. Having a slightlier easier time with the Droid cost, but it's experience I doubt will be as impactful.

My younger brother just got done with a week at Disney in Orlando FL with his family. 3 daughters, all convinced they are princesses in waiting. As he recounted his tale of misery and whoa I just had to laugh. It is worse than I thought. Years ago my sister won a radio call in contest and the prize was 3 days at Disney Orlando. Only problem was it was the days of the gay pride parades. I think the experience scared my nephew for life. Some "family" entertainment huh? Walt Disney is lucky he is long dead rather than to see what has been done with his creation.

I loath Disney too but I'll have no problem passing this up. I can't think of any amusement park I'd want to go to when an adult ticket cost is $149.

Right, this is the same setup you'll get from Spiderman The Ride at Universal Studios. It's just a gimbaled cart on tracks surrounded by speakers and 3D video. There's room for multiple rides at once.

For the Harry Potter Experience, the beers were a lot easier because they just imported Fullers (excellent choice), and had a couple local brews specially brewed for the tour. As a result, beers were pretty reasonable (you could get a full pint of every beer they had on-tap for less than the $75 you paid for that Disney flight.)

For Star Wars, they're going to have to brew their own (with weird colors and unique spices people, aren't used to in beer), and brew a lot of different styles. So I could see it getting bit pricey for a flight!

Enjoy waiting in line for 12 hours for your 15 minute bouncy cart on rails ride. I'd go if it was free and not $100 just to walk in the front gates.

Or you could just go to Dave and Busters (I can't believe I haven't done this yet) and fly the falcon in the SW Battle Pod

Dunno if it was specifically that Millennial Falcon ride (unless there's another space ship ride?)

Is that the vegan snowflake LGBTQ+ class freighter? Bet it melts into a banshee whine when challenged whilst spitting avocado chunks.

Badass! We're hoping to take the kids next year or the year after. Hope they can keep up with their Star Wars super fan dad!
