We will know tonite at Computex 2019 on the official details on Ryzen 3000 series and any upcoming NAVI releases & product roadmaps at 10am May 27 Taipei time.

New. I have a 1700. I'll be selling my 3570k for like $20, and move the 1700 to my test system. Life goes on.
 
I hope they nock it out of the park, I really do!

AMD has a nice window between now and the release of Sunny Cove and intel 10nm.
 
I am going to pre-order (microcenter) if they do it, the 12 core. I do not need the premium of the 16 core as I already have a 2950x. No need to pay premo price for 10% better performance. However my second PC is just sitting there with no CPU in, with a bare AM4 socket. Hence the 12. Looking forward to it.
 
i'm in for the 12c, but why would they talk about it at E3 and not the biggest hardware show? i'm hoping steve there is wrong...

$100 used 2700 is what I want.
Have a placeholder 1200 sitting in a B450m motherboard I bought out of curiosity.

E3 launch is probably to ensure the user segment they'd been bullet pointing gets an undiluted blast of PR.
 
3700x at 65w is pretty damn impressive. Great for SFF grunt for sure. Not disapointed at all if the IPC gain actually pans out in real world testing. The 3900x will be very tempting for "why the hell not" reasons.. lol
 
3800X: 8C/16T 3.9GHz base/4.5 boost 105W
3900X: 12C/16T 3.8 GHz base/4.6 boost 105W
8C/16T vs 12C/24T at the same 105W, yet the 3800X has a slower boost clock.
It's gotta be related to having 2 dies with 6 cores active vs 1 die with 8 cores active and the concentrated heat output on that one die.
Here's to hoping there will be a 2 die 4 core version with a higher boost in the future.
The truly remarkable part for me is the +15% IPC. I thought that was pure rumor and wishful thinking in the leaks.
 
Its pretty cool to be a AMD user these days. I have had the 2700X for awhile now and with the latest bios update for my board I can run the 3000 series, also not to mention the added bonus of PCIe 4 being implemented also on the X470 chipset. Im looking at the 3800X for a upgrade, very excited!!

7-7 release date was correct.

Now we can start talking about Zen2+ on 7nm+ hitting 5 ghz next year... ;)

I realize that I'm singling you out here, but these things go back and forth. These aren't sports teams, they're companies :).

With 15 % IPC they have room to keep the clocks low as I am sure Intel already knows this = 65 watt = the really jewel of what 2700x has became .
 
read through the keynote summary but didnt see anything, did they mention parts with integrated gpus? interested in a small build with the next gen equivalent of the r5 2400g.

Those will be remaining at Zen (not Zen+, or this Zen2). Which is unfortunate, but we can pretty readily assume that since desktop Ryzen (IGP-less) and Epyc are the same base part for the cores, AMD is prioritizing that production over a new APU spin.

I do hope that they get to it soon though, as they're basically perfect, and I'd love to see them hitting ultrabook thermal envelopes with some GPU grunt myself.
 
Meh, was really hoping for a 16 core.... guess I'll wait for the next threadripper, the 3930k lives on!
 
Ok... if independent benchmarks pan out, I’ll be dropping an 8 core Zen 2 in my HTPC, and a 6 core in a server build.
 
AMD will wait for Intel to hobble together a 10C/20T desktop part & then they will drop the 4+4 8C & 16C Ryzens...

The 4+4 8C part might be the one that hits 5GHz boost...?

The single chiplet parts has 32MB L3 cache, the dual chiplet part (the 12C R9) has a total of 64MB L3 cache...

Considering that Intel didnt have one either until the I9s a year ago, I think AMD is gaining ground pretty quickly.

Nothing seems to get over that 4 ghz base clock I'm hoping that if these are very conservative clock speeds that there is finally some room for manual overclocking :)

I am actually sure that all good parts are saved for Epyc familly. And Intel future 10 core part which will be still on 14nm will not beat the 12 core Ryzen 3000 and may be more expensive as usually. Intel may need something really better and if ever it happens, Intel working secretly on it, AMD will be ready with a 16c/32t 5Ghz CPU by taking back some good chiplets from the Epyc production..

Almost a repeat of net burst and need of a lot of speed to look fast to AMD 's slower design that is fast .
 
Which of the new Ryzen chips is the best "bang for the buck"? 3600x? Coming from a 4690k, will this give a decent improvement in single core performance?
