Destiny 2

Oooooooof course they would. Just hit the reset button twenty minutes ago. Taking the 21% on a test run to see how it handles on a cache strike.

Oh.. oh wow.. assuming I tool for heavy weapon ammo that thing is sick!

Nice! Yeah it's an awesome PvE MG, only one I use now unless I specifically need solar or void burn. The perks are really cool.

Delirium is pretty much 100% on every one of my loadouts. The auto loading feature is a huge factor for me. I also added the increased magazine size on the mod slot. Good times...

This is not recommended. It adds almost nothing to the capacity because of how the overload feature works. I remember it adding something like four rounds to your total capacity or something stupid like that. This is why I used the boss spec mod instead. You can check this yourself by breaking the gun down as you'll get your cores back. You can then pull another out of collections. Or pull one out of collections, and then infuse the higher light one into it once your done testing.

Copy that. Let me double check I thought it was more than that. I might just change the mod on it.

Well, you can break down the gun and get your mod back and then pull one out of collections for seven enhancement cores. Of course you'd have to bring that guns light level up which would cost three more cores.

Caved, joined an LFG and got my ass carried in 2 hours. It was crazy to see.

Confirmed. The back up mag adds +13 to the Delirium (102 to 115).

What do you guys think should I still go for the super mod? I'm still somewhat of a Destiny noob so I would love to hear your take on it.

Super mod is for armor, not weapons. For the Delirium I would use a Boss Spec mod. That's what I did. You could also use a minor or major spec mod on it if you want.

Oh bugger! No Strange Terrain and Ospry.

I may get on the app and see if I can hook up with any other n00blets to test the nightfall waters with these current ones.

Nightfalls:

The Arms Dealer (tilt fuze sparrow)
Earth. Shut down the operations of an ironmonger providing weapons to the Red Legion.

The Insight Terminus (long goodbye snipe rifle)
Nessus. Break into the ancient Vex installation.

Warden of Nothing (warden's law hand cannon)
Prison of Elders. Help the Drifter restore order at the Prison of Elders.

Season of Opulence is (almost) upon us! Calus and the Leviathan are back!

https://www.bungie.net/en/pub/SeasonOfOpulence

TL;DR breakdown:

  • THE MENAGERIE - 6-player activity with matchmaking that can be launched from the Director. Heroic mode with no matchmaking available. Players who best the Menagerie, will use the Chalice to create an offering of runes in exchange for the specific weapons and armor that they seek (THAT LAST PART IS HUGE).
  • Crown of Sorrow Raid is in the Leviathan's underbelly!
  • All new weapon and armor sets.
  • At least 2 new exotics, Truth (rocket launcher) and Lumina (hand cannon). However Hawkmoon looks to be in the trailer so maybe 3? Only two listed on the roadmap. It was also noticed that a Titan in the trailer was wearing the Peregrine Greaves exotic legs from D1. Also a new Warlock helmet? Still trying to gather information on this.
  • 3x Pinnacle weapons. Crucible gets the Revoker sniper that returns ammo on misses. Vanguard has the Wendigo GL3 grenade launcher that buffs damage on orb pickup and Gambit has Hush bow that grants a "massive" draw speed bonus on hip-fired crit's.
  • Solstice of Heroes is back in the Summer with a similar thing as last year with armor that we'll upgrade by doing activities. Looks like its going to have some cool effects and glows again. Hopefully they won't immediately make it obsolete in September like they did last year.

Holy cow matchmaking I'm installing the game but I wonder how many people bought the annual pass.

21percentGrind.png FurtiveShell2.png … and now I hate Gambit again lol

Edit: So i finally got around to trying out the 21% delirium, for a short amount of time before the NBA finals started, man this thing wrecks. The fire rate on this thing is insane.

Been farting around cleaning up some pinnacle weapon tasks in Strikes.. just snagged 'Loaded Question'.. wow.. that's one heck of a fusion rifle and looks snazzy too!

Now to retool with Crimson to grind out hand cannon precision shots.

Ooo too late but I would have suggested waiting until tuesday before picking it up, would have been higher power. Anyway yeah, in certain situations, Loaded Question destroys groups of adds if you use it correctly. I wasn't into it for a while until a buddy drilled into me "fire it and put it away". To take advantage of the main perk, only the first round of a full magazine is worth using and really only for groups of adds. Using it once then putting it away, triggers the automatic reloading after like 2-3 seconds and its ready to pull out and use again.

Now, if you end up having to use it over and over for single target damage, you'll quickly find it's a terribly unimpressive weapon.

However, with the huge Fusion rifle buff's coming Tuesday, they're going to get a lot more play in all game modes and i'm curious if we're going to see a new meta.

So, I haven't touched Destiny since December. With the Summer months being a game release wasteland, I might go back to it in June.

What exactly have I missed? I'm sure there is new content, but if I just fire it up will it be obvious? Anything I should be aware of first?

Season of opulence begins next week. From my understanding, one of the main quests you do, will give you a power boost in that you will be able to collect a full set of 700 armour for any of your characters in order to jump right back into things. Season of opulence brings a new raid, new gear, etc. If you were going to get back into it, now would be the time with a bunch of new content ready to drop.

Do you have the season pass, Foresaken package, or what?

I definitely have Forsaken...possibly the season pass. I can't really recall. I bought whatever was the mack-daddy package last Fall, but haven't bought anything or played at all since mid-December.

If you haven't worked through teh entire Foresaken then yeah.. the season pass has expanded Gambit, forges, and other jazz. New season this tuesday... people are all abuzz about it.

So...does Comp no longer take points for losses, or is it somehow just for the new pinnacle weapon? It's not clear the way they describe it. Luna's Howl/NF probably aren't worth getting any more, but I still want Recluse, and this makes it a million times easier is you just have to get X wins.

New Revoker sniper will count total points (you need 3500), not just reacing 3500. So for example if you played one game, lost one game, over and over, you'd still get it just slowly. Every win will grant you points but every loss won't lose you any towards your total. You won't gain higher rank, but you'll still get the gun.

This is ONLY for the Revoker sniper, not Recluse or any other pinnacle PvP weapon, at least not yet.

I guess that's pretty decent timing. I probably won't touch it for another couple weeks (no time), but I do miss the game. I even got pretty decent at Crucible (with a pad no less), which is something I never thought would happen. I just got sick of the weekly grind and hated the look of the Forsaken armor. I liked looking like a superhero instead of a cyber-bug. It's been 6 months and I'm ready to come back.

There are so many new sets of armor beyond what you would have seen from the start of Forsaken. There were four sets of Forsaken armor (per class) which are all pretty much hideous excluding the Reverie Dawn armor. The Black Armory update added at least two more per class I can think of. One from the forges and one from the Scourge of the Past raid. That does not include Iron Banner armor, or Crucible armor. There are two sets of Iron Banner armor, although those are now unavailable. There is a Gambit specific armor as well. There have also been at least two sets of armor from Eververse. Both of which dropped randomly in the engrams. There are also sets from the Season of the Drifter you farm from doing the Reckoning. You can still make your character look decent, but I'd agree some year one armor looked allot better and there was a far greater variety of armor to choose from initially.

The biggest problem is that the random perks made all year one armor obsolete. So when you get it, the stuff is useless.

I'm gonna try (TRY) to sum up some of the things you missed and are worth still trying to get, but keep in mind you have 4 days left in this season and we're about to get a bunch more on Tuesday. There is a bunch more I'm not listing but again, this is stuff worth going after, if only because the journey is pretty fun the first time.

Assuming you have the annual pass..

Season of the Forge in December:
  • Scourge of the Past raid (Amazing PvE shotgun called Threat Level)
  • Forges (you'll want to pick up a Hammerhead, Kindled Orchid and Blast Furnace)
  • Le Monarque (Exotic Bow)
  • Jotunn (mega man gun i mean incredible Exotic fusion rifle)
  • Izanagis Burden Mysterious Box quest (exotic sniper)
  • Anarchy (exotic grenade launcher with some interesting perks, only available from the SoTP raid)
  • The Last Word Quest(returning exotic hand cannon, PvP monster)
Season of the Drifter in March (aka Season of I Hope You Like Gambit):
  • Gambit Prime game mode with only one round and special armor you can grind a PvE mode called the Reckoning for that gives you 1 of 4 different roles and abilities while in Gambit Prime. You have to really like gambit to get into it, however.
  • Drifter "Power Surge" bounties. Doing these were very quick ways to get 640 Power Level gear if you weren't already 650 going into that season. The new cap is 700 and will be 750 on Tuesday so this is all changing.
  • Thorn Quest (exotic hand cannon returns with a quest to acquire it)
  • Outbreak Perfected (secret mission was discovered called Zero Hour akin to the Whisper mission that unlocks an exotic kinetic pulse rifle called Outbreak Perfected, the evolution of Outbreak Prime from D1. This mission also had a secret puzzle, again just like Whisper, that would grant you a new exotic ship tied to the mission).
  • 21% Delirium (pinnacle Gambit machine gun, some very cool perks and definitely worth the grind)
  • The Recluse (pinnacle comp PvP SMG. IMO the best PvE gun in the game, insane damage when the Master at Arms perk is proced. need to reach 2100 Glory in the Comp playlist)
Season of Opulence on June 4th:

I'm sure I missed a lot. Some things like a few pinnacle weapons I never thought were all that worth it I might have missed. Either way there has been a ton to do, doubly so if you just enjoy chasing triumphs and titles/seals.

Next week is mighty exciting for us hardcore Destiny fans.

Crap, probably never getting Recluse then. Topped out at 1200, then downhill from there. Maybe LH/NF nerfs will make soloing a bit easier...and I refuse to pay anyone.

Wait around for someone looking to carry people in the Play with Helpers channel, OR, if you really get desperate, someone will play on your account in the Play for Me channel. I was at 1600 or so and happened to find someone looking for someone in the Play with Helpers section and got my Recluse in about an hour and a half, they were insane. Getting carried was an understatement.

From what i've seen though, they're always looking for accounts to play on and if it comes to it, you can get it that way too and its 100% free.

Just some food for thought.

Thanks. I still feel weird about someone playing for me. Ethics, I guess. I wouldn't mind at least one good to great teammate who doesn't mind me not being great while I step my game up, and not getting to 1200 and being MM with 3 people worse than me:(, while the opposing team has some guy with Luna's and a god roll Dust Rock murdering everyone.

Also, I'm on XBO, I just talk D2 here because it's a decent community with no kids/idiots.

Ah, yeah I remember you saying that before. Well I wish you the best of luck!

Prep complete, vault down to 106/500, 525MW cores, every possible armor piece/weapon I might need is 700. Ready to jump in head first!

Below is still accurate minus the Gambit bounties.

Any idea what this June 6th announcement is going to be? Is it as simple as crossplay or maybe something bigger like another expansion?

I'm calling that crossplay will never happen but cross save might be a thing. I don't see any big name FPS pitting MnK and controller players against each other, that would never work.

I'm guessing this is going to be Bungies first real overview of what to expect without Activision. Also, hopefully some insight into the September release and possibly a little hint at D3.

Probably a hint at D3. With E3 coming up quick they probably want to start that hype train.

X-box now officially supports keyboard and mouse so they could do crossplay if they wanted to take the effort to implement MnK.
