Code Vein- new Bandai Namco action/RPG

Game is 3.5 months out, why is a
6 minute trailer 2:30 minutes of ads at the end and a total 10 seconds of gameplay?

Well this certainly has my interest. Hopefully Japanese audio will remain, there will be a solid high quality PC version, and BanNam won't load it up with a bunch of expensive costume DLC; I'll buy actual content DLC and expansions, but non-canon costumes and the like should be unlockable via in-game achievement somehow. Seems like the kind of game that could have really great co-op, if they build it right.

I thought originally they were only going for part-anime...seems like the game has evolved into almost a full anime title now...not sure I like the change...

Yeah I'm getting a much lower vibe of "Souls" than I remember from earlier peeks.

This looks like Souls-lite. Could potentially still dig it when I'm tired of being frustrated, as the game doesn't exactly look hard.

Code Vein is a bloody difficult game

At a media event last week, I played the game for a few hours...I found it to be an absorbing, challenging experience with a complex web of combat systems...It’s certainly an attempt by Bandai Namco to create its own Dark Souls/Bloodborne-like franchise, as a complement to its publishing contract for From Software’s much-loved series of tough-combat action role-playing adventures...a heavy emphasis on role-playing micro-management is also on display in Code Vein’s system of special attacks and buffs, known as “gifts.”...I unlock these as I play, equipping and de-equipping them according to specific needs...

Honestly doesn't look like it hold a candle to Sekiro reminds me of Lords of the Fallen.

The graphical details look good, but the animation and movement remind me of The Surge which was a total bore IMO. Unless this ends up hitting during a dead period of the year, I'll hold off for reviews.

I bought the surge and cleared it once, but after that it felt like I had no reason besides more of the same weapon/moves to play. I hope this does not use the same design.

the more I see of Code Vein the less interested I become...it has potential but it something about it also looks very generic...I'll wait to see some reviews...

From a community manager and ambiguous, so probably a useless statement.

Lets hope that stays accurate. Luckily Namco Bandai has thus far had a good relationship with Steam, but I am worried about the use of Unreal engine and Epic throwing money around as NamBan can be notoriously greedy.
Timmy Tencent comes knocking with his briefcase o' Nitebucks and cracks it open, it's been enough to make weaker and more short sighted developers drop to their knees .
and give it a kiss.

But greed being Bamco's middle name may be the game's saving grace, since they understand they'll make far more revenue on Steam than on Tim's social experiment.

You wouldn't believe how many times I searched Code Vein in Steam and came out with nothing over the past two years. I rather get this game then NIOH 2 and even The Surge though because this is a different take on the Souls game. The Surge is like clunky Transformers more than meet the eye and NIOH is like all Bamboo.

Yeah I'm not sure if this looks fun clunky big fake swords I suppose I would have to try it I like the cute char. customization though. I'm not even scared of the bosses like with Dark Souls you would fear for your life these guys look straight out of Dairy Queen.

Yeah I'm going to hold off preordering this one as much as I would like to support it the gameplay looks really boring.

I posted a thread and called this game Code Clunky due to your chars. movement. Boss look nice

I don't like the animation style...I thought the original idea was for this to be a mix between anime and traditional but the final version looks full anime

I’m ok with anime style in 2D games, and I did love SHOGO, and some modern anime styled fighting games, but it’s not my first choice for 3D games. However, I’m occasionally surprised and the aesthetic turns out to work for something that I thought it wouldn’t.

I’m not frothing for this game, but if people generally like it, I may give it a shot.

As far as oversized weapons... Souls has those too. :p

I just wonder how it feels when you play it looks nice espeically the demo trailer but I wonder what it feels like between all those uber bosses.

Picked up this game along with Greedfall

Update: Refunded due to all the people who didn't like it on PS4 th' Demo.
I mean there is no way in hell this can be good as Sekiro or even Darksiders 3 which it looks similar to in art style. My problem with the game everything is rendered to look solid and concrete unlike Nioh which has this organic feel to it this game just looks stale.

Next week Sept. 24th release date tempted to pick it up it's pretty cheap on CD keys compared to Steam I actually picked it up but refunded due to other games being released in the same month. 40.00 on CD keys I would try it at that price maybe depends on how the reviews are swayed after launch actually want NIOH 2 more and Great Rune over Nioh 2 =D

Did you like Darksiders 3?

This week the most delayed game in the history of dark souls clones. 2018 no it comes out in 2019.

donate blood get a free copy of the game...

I would never do that unless a family memeber needed the blood lol. I got my arm stuck with a needle for blood draw she hit a never in the arm and my arm tingled in pain for abotu 2 weeks
Totally not worth it......This is a very complain complaint because there is a nerve next to the main artery where they usually blindly stick you.

Everytime I look into this game I get less and less interested in it. I was on the fence about it up until a few days ago but ended up watching a livestream over the weekend for the first few hours of the game and I can't help but think it looks really boring. I'll probably wait for a discount if the reviews are good, if not it will probably be a pass for me. I like the art style though on the characters and I'm not really into anime. The world looks bleak and boring though.
