Destiny 2

Hmm. Picked up Geomag boots and random rolled got a RiskRunner. That little SMG should be fun to snap in when rolling up on some Fallen.

First time in a long time I ran out of ammo. Doing my thing with Breakneck, chewing through ads, and click-click-click.. what?! Totally lost my grove on ammo pick ups with this guy when on a role.

Breakneck can deplete reserves pretty fast. Its one of the few good auto-rifles in the game but it needs its stacks of rampage to be effective.

Save bounties! Every day you play, try and get Gambit bounties done and DON'T TURN THEM IN.
Okay - am I missing something? I had a bunch of bounties from yesterday in Gambit.. didn't turn them in - hoarding them. Head to the Drifter today and it tells me I have outstanding bounties and can't get more. So I turn them in, and now today's bounties are marked out because I already turned them in for the day.

Can I bank them in my closet inventory at the tower?

Hm, I could have sworn last season I hoarded a few days worth of daily/weekly gambit bounties and waited till I hit legend to turn them in. This might be something they changed when they adjusted how carrying over bounties between seasons is handled.

If you have completed ones and it won't let you pick up more, the next day.. I suppose you don't have a choice but to turn them in. That sucks.

Yeah.. checking around reddit seems that's the case.

Oh well.. time to put the axe to the gambit stone.

On the nerfing: If there's a concern about "unfair god weapons" for PVP then fine. Find a way to make changes there but don't overall ruin it. I felt so good about getting Whisper. I busted my ass for it. I never thought I'd get it done. Is it the end of the world? No, just disappointing.

I certainly won't be busing my ass on that Zero Hour Heroic nightmare because guess what? They're going to nerf that, too. What are they thinking?

Bungie did it in a way to help with player retention.
I like your optimism, but I think you're over-estimating the amount of bullshit that players will put up with before they just go 'fuck it' and uninstall the game.

I should have stated that this is Bungie's plan, how well that works seems obvious. Given how pissed off people are getting over this, I don't think its going to work as well as they think.

I uninstalled it :woot: twice now keep coming back with player retention the game is crossplay so basically you see alot of people playing the game they are on console.

It's not the kind of thing that makes me want to uninstall. The vast bulk of my time in Destiny 2 has been and continues to be enjoyable.

It simply means when I'm stuck on something like Zero Hour Heroic because I can't get the platforming down... I'm simply not going to bust my ass to even try and get it done. Like I said: Big time de-motivator.

I've watched in this thread some of the insane grinding some of you have done for some of these weapons. I wasn't busting my ass before and I certainly am even less inclined now. That's my reaction. That's likely the reaction of more people vs "screw it and uninstall" and especially in light of the fact that, yes, I'm astounded at how much BS people will allow and tolerate both in and outside of gaming, to boot.

After lots of thought combined with some of the videos like what Datto did, I think I'm finally at the Acceptance stage of grief lol.

This is going to work out in the end and I trust that Bungie has a plan for the future.

At the end of the day, I absolutely love Destiny.

Hell a buddy and I were getting depressed over all the negativity on /r/dtg so we just logged in and dicked around in the Dreaming City last night with random off meta weapons and supers and had a ton of fun.

Things still died and we still felt powerful. Whouda thunk it?

I played a bunch of destiny 2 but to me some of the grinds to get certain weapons are madness (and that coming from someone who spent a year is wow trying to get one pce of armor to complete a set.) especially for a looter shooter.

I know that you can play most of the game perfectly with some easy to get weapons and some of the random dropping exotics but still trying to get most of the rarer weapons requires more time then an actual job, no to mention that you can dome 3-4 stages of a quest to get a weapon in PVE and then all of a sudden you need to do PVP do finish it off ruining the whole thing.

I'm still going to play it every now and then, but with all the persistent world games these days I have no desire nor enough time to invest in this game with it's dodgy and vague quest mechnics and idiot jumping puzzles.

Heck i'm still upset that with the warlock spec I chose after the expac you needed to level it by doing x amount of damage but the ability did no damage so I had to slowly farm it using grenades (also took me 6 months to figure out that you had to lvl these this way) on my alts i just thought I did something where I did not notice that I got a skillpoint. This game needs a lot better design in certain area's to make it clear what you need to do.

I know its probably inconsequential at this point, but getting kills inside your Well of Radiance counted towards fully unlocking it.

That all being said, as someone with over 1500 hours in Destiny 2, they do a piss poor job of explaining things to people who don't look outside the game for guides. Always thought that so needless to say, I spend a lot of time on Reddit/Youtube when i question things.

This is very true.

Alright.. down to the last slog to get 3k in Gambit. Sunday afternoon was just filled with stink round after stink round.. but later that evening folk seemed to gel better. Though I was getting chucked into rounds already running with a single or pair of players against a full team. Those were.. odd.

So is that Annual pass worth it or is it just for End Game nuts?

Kind of a weird question since if you're a Destiny fan and put significant hours into it, of course it's worth it.

End game IS the game.

Collecting exotics, knocking out triumphs, participating in new game modes/raids and going for those god rolls. If you don't have the season pass, you really can't do any of that.

That being said... Zero Hour wildcard notwithstanding (which I have little motivation for) ... I feel like I've once again hit that "dry" brick wall where I am going to be playing a lot less. It just doesn't seem like there's much left to do or accomplish at present. I frankly just don't see myself doing some of the insane grinding every stinkin' last weapon like some of you are doing. If it happens while I play and do things, great but otherwise... nah.

I gave up on the Recluse for this season. I'm just not motivated to do competitive matches. I'm also not interested in the Iron Banner pinnacle weapon. I hear its shit anyway.

Q-BZ a buddy and I can get you you're Heroic run for the Catalyst even if you don't get to the boss room. Though I know part of the whole point is actually completing it yourself so that's up to you.

It would be more of a timing thing when we're all on. I'm only ever on evenings during the week, 6PM EDT at the earliest. My buddy also isn't always available so I at this point, i can't guarantee anything.

The boss room is easily duoable so as long as you can help us through the first three enemy rooms, you can emote for the rest of the 20 minutes and we'll get it done :-P

I believe i'm at that point. I logged my three comp games on Saturday for the week, all losses.

I just don't have the skills for PvP in this game, to be honest. Either that or I need a complete shift in tactics.

I do fine in PvP, I just don't seem to have the motivation to do it. After getting Thorn I'm just burnt out.

^^ It really sounds like we're all on the same wavelength here.

Odds are I might have to take you up on that offer because that platforming is just going to kick my ass. I don't think I'll ever get it.

So that basically means you two fight and I'm stuck way back at that wall then if you all win we all win?

I tell you... if we do that I am going to owe you both something for that. It may come to this.

Yeah I am losing interest myself. The outbreak catalyst is something I might have to give up on also because of my jumping skills. I'm not sure about the whisper catalyst either. The Darci catalyst dropped for me recently so I might work on that.

One thing that might keep me going in the game are the nightfall guns, but we'll see.

wow.. feeling that burn of loser rounds. Started no wins but the gambit dailies getting me points.. multiple goes with only two or three people for the first part.

So with all these armor nerfs would you guys agree that for Warlocks lunafaction boots is really the only thing worth using with Chromatic Fire a distant second?

As for usable exotics, Chromatic Fire is near the bottom. The benefit of that glitchy extra firefly explosion is not great enough over something like the enhanced void grenades with Contraverse Hold, or the extended super of Crown of Tempests. I could go on but there are still lots of usable exotics depending on the activity.

This goes for end game activities, especially high level end game activities.

My Transversives don't come off for the whole of SoTP, for example, and Karnsteins are great for close quarters survivability.

I think a lot of exotics are underutilized and I'm actually glad to get this opportunity to put more of them to use and not feel required to always run one or another.

Geomags are still good. I guess we'll just have to see what, if any, buffs happen after the update. Meanwhile, I'm gonna login to get another 20% on the OP catalyst tonight. No desire to do the puzzle, even though that adds two additional weeks.

I wouldn't count on any buffs even though many exotics perform so poorly they aren't worth using over anything else.

I've had some fun with Nemesis and especially Liberty. What do you think of those?

Anyway..

Catalyst/New Ship tonight! Feels good to be hype about it, plus i just love Zero Hour so i'm excited to jump back in.

Ha, I think he got the Division 2 and this thread mixed up. Those are an exotic sniper and pistol from it.

It seems there was a machine gun in the first Destiny called the "Nemesis Star." When I googled the gun and Destiny 2, this is what came up:
