Games that you have replayed the most

Zelda II The Adventure of Link
Twisted Metal 2
Diablo seires
Age of Empires II
Command & Conquer
Oblivion
Skyrim

Fuck. Me. That is a lot of time.

To put it in perspective: Fallout 3 came out about 10.5 years ago, or about 92,000 hours ago. You've put in 15,000 hours, or on average about 4 hours every single day for the last 10.5 years? That is... impressive.

First day purchase for every game in the Fallout Series. Fallout 1 hooked me. Fallout 2 same. Fallout 3 grabbed me by the collar and said "Like it or not, you're coming with me." FONV not so much but I still had fun with it. Fallout 4 I had 4,000 hours into the game before it was a year old. Haven't played Fallout 76 as of yet but hopefully will have that rectified soon.

I reckon out of the 15,000 hours invested into Fallout 3, 1/40th of that time was either installing or creating mods. I'm currently in another playthrough with a couple of mods I haven't tried before.

Age of Empire 2 & 3
FF7
Mortal Kombat 2 & 3
Zelda Link to Past
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Half Life 2
Probably play these games over 20x

That would be 11 hours a day to accrue 4,000 hours in a year...

Hour accumulation - and Steam Achievement completion - is due to becoming unemployed and developing health issues. If you search the Fallout 4 thread you'll find I have a boatload of posts in there.

Sorry to hear that, man. And I wasn't trying to be an arsehole, just impressed by the dedication!

I just realized I neglected to mention Link to the Past and Tenchu 2.... (I posted via mobile the first time)

Warcraft III also deserves a nod..

- Great thread. Best in a while IMO.

Fuck dude..how did u get a copy of this!
It happened after I replayed the first one on the 7th or 9th time, my imagination took over and re-wrote the whole game.
Fixed, thanks! I had 2 on my mind because I was typing HL2 next.

Half-Life 2
Dark Souls (the original one)
GTA4
Mass Effect (original)

Back when I was young and 8/16-bit games were all the rage I'd play through those games countless times. Not sure they should count, though. GTA4 takes like 75 hours to complete while Double Dragon, Strider, and Altered Beast take like 15 minutes.

Total Annihilation

I saw a PCaccelerator magazine article for it back in like 1995 or 96, and was blown away by is scale, number of units, and visuals. I still play it from time to time. It still holds up. It was fun to load up a 64/64 map, against 6 AI opponents, and hunker down and fight off the never ending hordes of thousands of enemies. Its been 22 years, and I still think its the best game ever made.

Supreme Commander was a good try at a successor, but ultimately, it let me down in unit variety and always felt like it was whatever team could build the biggest rush army, whereas TA could be played extremely defensively.

Planetary Annihilation came along, promising to be the game for those who loved TA. They even had some people who worked on TA, same sound people etc....but that game was a bust. They took that funding and pumped it into other products. Personally, I feel like it was a bait and switch.

Ashes of the singularity came along, and I only gave it a look when it was a tech demo. Did it ever evolve into more than a tech demo? was it ever a decent game?

I would give many hugs for a good RTS.

I bet the majority of the time was modding it.

I have over 1000 hours each with all the Dark Souls games on PC...the Arkham games are probably my 2nd most played...

Glad I'm not the only one in this exact same boat! :)

I was a very early investor in Planetary Annihilation, hoping it to be the bee's knees. Myself and friends were still fairly regularly playing our SupCom:FA Skirmishes right up till PA's release. But alas, it just kinda never really took off. It never really clicked with me. Can't really say why. My brother gave it a good shot, but I don't see him clamouring to go back for more any time soon.

SupCom:FA is still best RTS circa 2019!

Also:
5. C&C: Red Alert: Aftermath (my most played RTS bar none, I'd need to spend a few more years playing FA for it to maybe catch up)
4. Hitman series (Jesper Kyd era only)
3. Battlefield (entire series, why not)
2. Guild Wars 2 (almost ashamed to have put the last 7 years of my life into this)
1. Mass Effect series (easily number 1 for me)

Last night I picked up that ground based Homeworld Deserts of Kharak, and its decent, but no what I was after. I think Ill just end up going back to SupCom FA.

I would say Fallout and Grand Theft Auto series.
As for the first, I mean the classic ones: F1, F2, Tactics and New Vegas at some point. I have various editions from the worldwide and tested almost any build you can imagine. Thanks to the modding community there are tons of mods which expand the lore and extend the gameplay for hundreds of hours.
As for the Grand Theft Auto, you'd better love it because that's one of my favorite mayhem simulators. I recommend you to download GTA V if you somehow missed it. There are plenty of opinions on the internet why you should do it, so I won't repeat any of them. Just do it.

Fallout 3 by a large margin. Roughly 15,000 hours into the game.

Second in line would be Diablo II. Many a time I played until the early hours of the morning and went into work bleary eyed.
Fallout 3 looks interesting. I think that I may need to get that for my wife as she is looking for action with a little bit of role playing.

The most I have played numbers wise and actually completed is probably

Secret of Monkey Island 2
Day of the Tentacle
Fate of Atlantis
Secret of Mana

Two games really stand out to me:

Bioshock:Infinite; This game brought me back to gaming. After taking a long break from gaming while I went to college and really couldn't afford the time to game monetarily or fiscally this game came with my first new computer since graduating. It was free with my gpu, I gave it a shot and I feel in love.

Skyrim I fucking love this game. I remember getting it on launch and I also start to replay it when fall hits. It reminds me of those cool fall mornings in Florida when I'd spend all day playing.

Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3
Galactic Civilizations 2
Jade Empire
Overlord 1 and 2
Saint's Row 2
KOTOR 1 and 2
Dragon Age: Origins

I'm currently on another playthrough for DA:O because I never got around to running through with a Dwarf commoner and decided to rectify that oversight. As it is I've done multiple playthroughs of most of the other origins.

I'm sure there are some other games in there which should probably be mentioned that I can't think of right now. For the most part I was only listing games which can be "beat" and that I've completed multiple times. Otherwise I have quite a bit of time in a few MMOs which by the amount of playtime dwarf any of the games I have listed here.

I used to dabble in speed running metroid games, so I've played through Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid Prime easily over 20 times each. I was able to get Super and Fusion to about 2 hours real time (less than an hour in game).

For me its Total War: Medieval 2. Its the one game I keep going back to time after time after time.

I don't replay them. They are like movies and TV shows. Once you have been through them, there is nothing much new.

i dont think ive replayed a game.

I extremely rarely rewatch stuff.

I attempt to replay my favorites and usually rarely make it through to the end. (Zelda and Final Fantasy series really fall into this category hard)

Games I actually have gone through multiple times

Grandia (quick edit: honestly my most replayed rpg. And only of the longest. Twice on the ps1, once on PSP and currently playing on the Switch)
Secret of Mana
Halo 1-3, ODST (Reach and 4 never did more than once. 5 never finished)
Gears of War
Fallout 2
Return to Castle Wolfenstein

And many others I’m sure I’m forgetting.

Quake 1
Borderlands 1

I have no count in my head.. so ill just spam my thoughts.

Diablo II sucked away my soul for a good 2 years solid.

Dragon Quest VIII for the ps2 is also a love affair for me.. childish game but man it's so gripping. I'm sure I've beaten that over 10 times @ 50+ hours per playthrough

I'm sure in the past 20 years between counterstrike and half life and portal 2 I've donated over 10,000 hours of my life. I absolutely love source engine.

Honorable mentions:
NES: castlevania. Bane of my childhood
SNES: Donkey Kong Country II.. what a good game..
Sega genesis: kid chameleon
Ps1: metal gear solid
Ps2: champions of norrath (both games)
Ps3: fallout 3 (was still in college, didn't have good pc)
Pc: conquests of the longbow, commander keen series, Wolf3d, Doom II, Quake 1 & 2, duke 3d, return to castle wolfenstein, dark souls 1 & 2, borderlands 1&2.

Super Mario Bros
F-Zero
Metal Gear Solid
Outlaws
Star Wars Dark Forces
Half-Life
Half-Life 2
All my other games just 1 or 2 plays through, but this list always draws me in again and again.
Edit: Forgot to include Twisted Metal on the list.
