I wasn't sure what Cult to join so I joined the Witch on the bottom left at the Hub starting area.

D'oh, I forgot to check... Is the DLC sale still on? I have not looked at this since beta.

Grim Dawn Forgotten Gods is in the Top Selling games on the Steam front page right now; even at full release price. Congrats to Crate!

I am holding off on buying this as I just recently bought Ashes of Malmouth and haven't even made it that far in the game despite having close to 1100 hours logged.

I joined the wrong cult I should of joined the one with Ather damage weapons and armor but there are other level 70 or 90 venders in game. I'm current at level 68 all the enemies are like butter on normal. I could do NG+ on elite and puck up the other cult that way.

Finished the game on Normal was pretty easy played on Elite game is alot more fun you just get that extra resistance Elite is made for Mulitplayer.
Game just crashed on me as well but I was playing for about 4 hours straight so I needed a break. There are more talking questing NPCs in Ashes of Malmouth then with Forgotten Gods. Except in the starting area. Basically all the of Mobs just charge at you no much variation like the 2nd expansion.

- Just bumpin' with the latest Grim Misadventures....

Grim Misadventures is here!

Forgotten Gods, Grim Dawn’s second massive addition has been in your hands for several weeks. The reception has been heartwarming and we are glad to see players everywhere discovering Korvan secrets and vanquishing an ancient foe.

Now that you’ve peered beyond the veil and uncovered some of the mysteries of the Eldritch Realm and the new game, I’m sure you’re eager to see what still awaits beyond the veil…of development.

Today we’re going to give you exactly that, with a sneak peek at what’s still to come with the Forgotten Gods expansion!

V1.1.2.0
Hot on the heels of the expansion’s release, we have for you its first balance update. It’s going into testing soon, so you can expect it to be in your hands posthaste.

Two highlights of the update can be broken down into two sections:

The Shattered Realm is receiving a balancing pass. First up, we are adjusting health scaling at Shards 1-60 so the difficulty starts a little lower and progresses more smoothly before reaching the hardest levels. In addition, we are shifting the loot curve in a similar fashion so that the loot rewards start considerably higher and progress smoothly before returning to their present values at Shard 60 and beyond.

The Boss distribution is getting some significant changes as well. First up, we’ve redefined some of our boss categories and added another so that the progression of boss difficulty feels smoother. For example, some tougher bosses will no longer appear at lower Shards at all. Most importantly for those tackling the hardest Shards, you will no longer encounter multiples of certain bosses at all (no more double Grava’Thul dispels). Overall, we think these changes will make the Shattered Realm feel smoother and more rewarding at all levels of play.

The second big change we are working on for this update is to take a long look at some of the game’s oldest sets. Some of them have aged well as our item design philosophy has evolved, while others have not. With that in mind, we are going to be updating the following four sets and their lower level versions.

Bloodrager's Endless Frenzy
The Bloodrager set is in a decent place, but it could use some love. First up, we are adding Nightblade support and turning it into one of the standard three-mastery sets.

In addition, we wanted to take some of the RNG of the set bonus out from relying so heavily on monster packs and adds during boss encounters. That aspect of enraging when slaying a foe remains as a core part of the set, but is moving to the Helmet and will even heal you. Meanwhile, the set bonus will instead trigger on Crits to throw you into an even deeper bloodrage!

Iskandra's Unification
Iskandra’s set has been in an unusual place for a long time. We’ve experimented with it in the past to make a bit of a hybrid playstyle of magic and melee, but in practice the results were found wanting and the set almost always played better as a caster with abilities that included % Weapon damage.

In v1.1.2.0, Iskandra’s Unification is getting a complete overhaul and will instead bring out the elemental mastery Iskandra was known for through the use of Trozan’s Sky Shard, nifty fx change on that skill included!

The Clairvoyant's Focus
The Clairvoyant set’s niche never quite settled in and the set most often found its place in builds that used its generic bonuses to create (sometimes broken) results.

With v1.1.2.0, the Clairvoyant is going to be refocused from its general use to serving particular masteries well and filling a gap we feel was sorely left out of sets: Albrecht’s Aether Ray, with an emphasis on the Aether.

Now, before you rebel, you may find this upcoming balance change relevant to the new Clairvoyant set…

Ulzuin's Infernal Avatar
Last on our list is the Ulzuin set. Long has it served as the awkward sibling to the Hellborne rifle, but no more! We thought about what it really means to represent Ulzuin…and the answer is of course fire…fire everywhere. If there isn’t fire raining from the heavens, covering the ground while you put explosions everywhere, are you Really living up to Ulzuin’s name?

With v1.1.2.0, the Ulzuin set will focus on Canister Bomb and, well, fire…everywhere. Besides, what sort of madness had us make an Ulzuin set before without a single bonus to Ulzuin’s Chosen?

V1.1.3.0 and beyond
Some of you may have been making bargains of which you do not yet know the consequences. In a future update, Riggs may just come cashing in on your deal…

attachment.jpg

While you can count on Riggs sending you to some unsavory places to recover whatever it is he seeks, we’ve heard your feedback loud and clear: the grand adventure with Riggs will culminate in our 5th Roguelike dungeon, which means powerful new bosses, awesome loot and of course another take on the Death Room formula!

For those more into fashion and new playstyles, we are working on a number of new items to expand the loot hunt. You can look forward to a number of new sets and weapons as well!

And of course MOAR. There will be MOAR! Check in on our monthly development updates as we continue improving Grim Dawn!

Like knowing what is coming up next for Grim Dawn? Grim Misadventures are posted less frequently as we focus on supporting the expansion and its upcoming content updates. Check back on 05/13/2019 for the next Grim Misadventure.

Looking forward to that. My AAR guy is one of my favorites.

Oooh those iksandra set changes!!!!

My first and favorite character is a soldier/arcanist who wanted to be a melee attacker dropping sky shards. There just wasn't the gear to make it happen so I'm excited to see what they come up with!

Don't make me regret this, internet. Since I told Discord that the patch might come today (which it's not), you get the changelog early.

Patch is coming next week.

Please remember to behave and actually try the changes in-game before you go off about #deadbuilds.

  • Fixed a number of locations where players/monsters can get stuck beneath terrain. If you run into other such locations, please report them as a bug with a screenshot of the area.

  • Fixed an issue where Devotion shrines would not grant Experience if the player was at maximum Devotion points.

My Oathkeeper is getting nerfed. :( Ha ha. It was so overpowered. Maybe it will be more balanced now! :)

Next week? The GD forum rumor was that it was gonna drop today.... Bah

Thanks for posting. IMO, this is the first real "spit polish" patch we've gotten for FG.

What is Crate working on after they are done patching this game to the limit?

What is Crate working on after they are done patching this game to the limit?

Some sort of city-builder type game....

That's all they've really let slip. It's been in the works for a little while now. (less than a year?)

"The latest patch is now live!

The updated spell effects bring a fresh coat of paint to the game and we are very pleased with how they turned out. You can also look forward to many item skill modifiers visually changing your skills where they previously did not!

Enjoy!"

Off to level!

I didn't see the iksandra changes in those notes.. did they change that set in a prior patch?

Welcome to Grim Misadventures!

We hope you are thoroughly enjoying the visual updates of v1.1.2.0. We may actually sneak a few more in next patch. ;)

Speaking of the next update, that’s hot in the works over here at Crate, so we’d like to give you a deeper look into what you can look forward to with v1.1.3.0!

V1.1.3.0
First off, this update is actually much closer than you might expect as we’ve been chipping away at it while developing V1.1.2.0. So expect these changes to go into playtesting posthaste, and then soon after that it will be in your hands!

The focus of V1.1.3.0 is to fill in some gaps that currently exist in our selection of sets, and to provide you with some hot new Illusionist options of course!

This update will introduce twenty new items, distributed across five new Legendary quality sets, and you can take a look at them all below!

Pyran’s Ruminations
attachment.jpg

You’ve already seen this unusual look in our Forgotten Forecast. This set is all about raining destruction down upon your foes with support for Devastation, Mortar Trap, and Celestial Guardians. The full set grants you a ranged explosion so you can throw fire while you’re throwing fire.

The Korvan Dunefiend
attachment.jpg

With blades that carry an acidic bite, you will spin to win and Shadow Strike your way into the fray in style! Empower your attacks with the Blood of Dreeg, should you choose.

Targo’s Craft
attachment.jpg

Said to be forged by the gods themselves, this heavy plate will cast Judgment upon your foes. Once they’re up close and personal, cleave them down with Blade Arc or Amarasta’s Blade Burst!

The Voidsoul
attachment.jpg

Tainted by the powers of the void, this mighty plate teems with sinister energies. Aegis is forever changed and the Flames of Ignaffar bristle with chthonic power. Finish off any fleeing foes with a devastating Doom Bolt.

Rotgheist
attachment.jpg

Disease and pustules embody this rotting armor. Charge into battle with Vire’s Might and unleash your vile powers through a Vitality Primal Strike. Finish off any stragglers with an empowered Dreeg’s Evil Eye.

MOAR
We can’t just stop with twenty new items, that’s not how we roll around here. In addition to these awesome new sets, we will also be introducing several quirky new levels to the Shattered Realm that put a bit of a twist on the standard formula. We look forward to your reactions once you find them. ;)

In addition, we’ve heard many requests for another opportunity to support Crate Entertainment. We are incredibly humbled and want to make sure that you get something amazing for your additional support.

Allminoxy is hard at work on what will become the Loyalist Item Pack #2. We’ll be sure that this collection of items not only looks badass but also embodies your support for Crate! Thank you!

I bet it's going to be a real good game maybe they can add some of that Grim Dawn the the NPCs in the game.
Oathkeepers invade your hamlet and your defense consists of farmers with pitchforks and woodcutters with axes. :)

A little treat for you in the midst of some upcoming work.

Makes beating up those early monsters a bit more satisfying!

V1.1.2.5

[Game]
  • Updated various base-game enemies with higher fidelity models and textures in order to bring them up to our current standards. Enjoy the greatly updated assortment of Zombie foes!
- Awesome but now Grim Internals is broken till they update it :( (usually takes a day, so no biggie)

Grim Misadventures is here, the first of its names following the great forum migration of 2019!

Last time, we left you with a taste of the upcoming item sets. Today, we’ll dive deeper into what’s in store for the rapidly approaching v1.1.3.0 update, as well as something special that the community’s been asking about for a while now!

Loyalty -
First up, by overwhelmingly popular demand, we are pleased to announce that Grim Dawn will feature its second Loyalist Item Pack, coming later this week on 06/20/19. We are humbled by this request and hope that this second collection of vanity items will be a worthy symbol of appreciation for your support!

The items in this collection will bring out the classic fantasy hero within you. Always wanted to vanquish your foes dressed as a royal knight or a mighty wizard? Well now you can! To top it off, you can show off your support for Crate with your very own companion pet (PTSD warning for those that have faced the might Crate of Entertainment secret boss).

Loyalist Item Pack #2 will be priced just like the original Loyalist Pack, at $8.99, and will include an awesome collection of vanity gear:

  • Sinister Black Knight’s Full Set of Armor

  • Black Knight’s Sword and Shield

  • Sacred Silver Knight’s Full Set of Armor

  • Silver Knight’s Sword and Shield

  • Venerable Dragon General’s Helm, Chestguard and two-handed Spear

  • Enigmatic White Wizard’s Hat, Robe and Staff off-hand

  • Crate companion pet
As a plus, owners of Ashes of Malmouth will be able to add all of these items directly to your Illusion collection, rather than having to apply them individually to specific items. This feature will be added retroactively to the first Loyalist Item Pack as well.

V1.1.3.0 -
Now this may have you wondering, if we’re releasing a Loyalist Item Pack, then a patch must be right around the corner, no? And you would be right, my curious viewer, as the next free major content update for Grim Dawn is coming in just a few days!

As you already know, the highlight of the update is sure to be the Five new Legendary item sets, but that’s not all!

Apart from the standard fare of bug fixes and tuning, this update is absolutely packed with new stuff.

  • Updated Spell Effect: just as with V1.1.2.0, we are continuing our trend of updating some of the oldest spell effects in the game. Next up are: Amarasta’s Blade Burst, Blackwater Cocktail, Lightning Strike, Maelstrom, Primal Strike, Reckless Tempest and Ring of Steel!

You will also be pleased to know that Eye of Reckoning, Righteous Fervor and Savagery will now update their visuals based on Item Skill modifier conversion.

  • The Shattered Realm continues to expand with 4 new anomalies on the standard formula. Hunt them all down as one just might have a unique treasure for you to find.

In addition, we are continuing to look at certain Boss combinations and will be restricting the possibility of certain bosses appearing together, as well as revising some of the bosses that appear at earlier shards. You will also be pleased to know that the Fleshworks and Loghorrean themed Shattered Guardian’s Domains will be significantly larger next patch.

  • For enthusiasts of Fashion Dawn, we worked out a way to introduce Invisible Illusions to the game. With the next update, be sure to stop by the Coven of Ugdenbog Quartermaster to purchase Invisible illusions for the Head and Shoulders slots!

  • For those of you that enjoyed our little Totally Normal discovery in Forgotten Gods, you may want to start scouring the world once again, because three more Totally Normal…things await!

  • MOAR…as always, you can look forward to other great changes and additions with the upcoming update, coming your way posthaste!

Now if these knuckleheads would just add health bars as a toggle, I'd be done with Grim Internals....

I wish they would make the stash tabs larger and have the ability to see gear and stash tabs on other characters. That would be Christmas in July for me.
