[DEAD] Best Buy 24-Hr Flash Sale - 12" Macbook for $799 ($500 off)

I have one of these for general use, like an iPad, but a full computer. Base specs are decent. Long battery life, low heat and zero noise because it has no fans.

Great for taking notes on, watching movies, browsing, taking with you on trips, and it’s charger will double as a Nintendo Switch charger. Since it’s a laptop, it’s much easier to use on your lap without having to balance it. Used it in a pinch for Photoshop and Illustrator multiple times.

It’s also small enough to keep to the side of my desk where there’s no room for a 2nd monitor to run some videos while I work.

Speakers are actually amazing for the size, zero complaints as voices sound really good.

Runs smooth for the most part, and the track pad and gestures function great.

If this can output to a 4K display (and I see no reason it can't), then this would make a great "portable" computer. I used to use an older Macbook Pro like this at one time.

Yes, it can run a 4k display. At least the 4k screen on a MobileStudio Pro. Here are pics of two tests:

1: USB-C Thunderbolt type cable to a Wacom MobileStudio Pro with a 4k display. Same connection also does data for touch, Wacom pen and side buttons. Display runs slightly scaled due to the size.

2: LG Ultrawide at 3840x1600 with no scaling. The connection will also charge the Macbook and probably let you use the USB ports on the back of the monitor.

Looks like amazon is matching the space gray price at 799 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072QGG3V7/

I started to notice about 2-3 years ago that almost every time BB has something on sale that coincidentally Amazon has the same as well. Mostly with blu-ray/4k stuff. Sometime's vice-versa. Not an absolute but it's funny often it does happen.

Amazon does this. Not only with Best Buy but others. It is no coincidence.

Glad to know this can connect to a 4K display. I used to use a ~2010 Macbook Pro connected to a 1920x1200 monitor while my main computer was down. Worked well at the time.

Yes, dead both at Amazon (proves this isn't a coincidence) and Best Buy as well.

Thanks, forgot to update the thread title.

As an aside I do appreciate that Best Buy discounts their open box items proportionally when a sale happens. Gotten a few good deals made better that way.
