I think the worst part of this launch will be no truth-speaking [H] review.

We'll be ok, there will be more than one youtuber who does not sign NDA's and posts the truth.
If the 9900k wasn't double the price of a 2700x (in my country) I'd be tempted to just drop one into my z370. Knowing myself though I'll probably sit on the fence until next year and see what happens since I wouldn't mind having USB 4.0 on my next motherboard and I don't think x570 boards will have it.
I don't trust YouTubers as a matter of course on any subject. If you get your news and reviews - techical or otherwise - from YouTube, chances are you are misinformed.
They are "just some dude with a social media account", not an authority on the subject whose methods I trust.
The devil's in the details, and I don't trust these modern fools on YouTube to get it right.
That and video is a very poor media for a technical review.
Are you really going to saturate the bandwidth in the life of the board?

Thunderbolt (and firewire before it) were designed for multimedia tasks. Audio/video editing and streaming, between recording hardware and workstations or fast storage media. they were picked up early by Apple for that reason. What do you guys do via USB for which this would matter one iota?
I mean, I have a mouse and keyboard in my USB ports. Sometimes I plug in my microphone, but usually not.
Those are all USB2 or older.
Occasionally I plug in my phone to transfer some pictures. That's technically USB3, bit I don't think I'd notice if I used an older USB2 port.
Only time USB gets a serious workout is during OS install time, but I think I'd be fine with USB2 there too.
I guess for me, USB tends to not be a consideration at all when I am shopping for PC hardware. As lobg as I have at least 4 USB2 or newer ports, I guess it's just not a big deal for me.
So I guess I don't understand the need?
In general I tend to think of USB and Thunderbolt as "mobile" expansion formats.
"You'll just have to wait"Yeah but I have everything but the CPU, I was going to get the 2700x but then they were all like, BUT Wait!!! We expect the new chips Q1 of 2019 and I was like OK that’s April at the latest I can wait...
Well even if I could order it the drain port I ordered from EKWB hasn’t arrived yet so I can’t complete the loop for the rig anyways.
Forgot how cheap ram got after Sandy kicked ass. They'll do anything to prevent that these days, So I think you'll be waiting for used pricing.Until DDR4 prices get to DDR3 2012 levels, I am not interested in moar memory. Waiting for 2 x 16GB to get to $110 or so before I bother replacing any of my 2 x 8GB kits. (Yes, in September of 2012, you could buy 4 x 8GB of DDR3 for $110 and no, not just the cheap crap.) As for the Zen 2 CPU, I am not going to upgrade, since I am happy with my 1600, 1700 and 2600.

We'll be here to pick up the torch. My last AMD CPU was a Venice. I am super excite for this launch.
I am tired of leaks, I just need the chips already, I am tired of delaying my build and I want it finished already!!!
