Looking at the 880 premium edition for the looks and they are semi opeback which I never tried before. The closest thing I ever tried for good headphones are Hyper cloud X pros.

Would I notice a difference?

Maybe; have the DT880 Black edition and have not been impressed versus Sennheiser HD600s. The Massdrop x Sennheiser HD6xx is my go to for gaming cans without spending significantly more.

[I also don't find the Beyers to be as comfortable once the head strap is adjusted]

Most Beyers (with the exception of the Amiron series) have exceptional build quality which, unfortunately, puts pressure on my big head -- I always have to stretch 'em out a bit via the book method (put some books between both earcups with low-to-moderate stress on the base metal of the headband, for a 24 to 48hr period).

Once that's done, though, they are really very comfortable.

Also, we don't know what your preferences are in terms of sound -- treble happy, basshead, or neutral? The DT 880 is a pretty neutral headphone (certainly in comparison to the vast majority of Beyers out there --- they are well-known for their "treble-centric" tuning, which provides the illusion of being more detailed).

Here's a good review of the DT880, which also includes comparisons w/the HD 600 & 650:

Edit: realized that I didn't really answer your question, Comixbooks, so here's some measurement charts of the Takstar Pro 80 (which the HyperX Cloud/Cloud Pro is a direct rebranding of):

I had a pair of the standard DT880s for a few years as my daily drivers. I chose the low ohm version- 32- and drove them like mad with a headphone amp. Also could run them straight off an Apple Ipod.

Used them for all kinds of music, games and movies. They were a good set for the price. My only complaint is that the pleather headband disintegrated on me. The outer skin wore through and the foam underneath crumbled. I did not want to take the time to repair them.

I think you will notice a difference but consider your ohm rating and what you are going to drive them with, if anything, to get the max out of them.

I have the DT-990 Pro 600ohms and although they are not the DT880 they been my goto for about 5+ years now.

I own the DT880 Premium 250's great headphones (with the right amp) .. an OTL tube amp say I have a DV336SE or vintage warmer SS amp.. avoid bright amps..

these headphones can have harsh highs if paired with the wrong amp...

comfort and build are exceptional I really like my DT880 for a variety of music.. pretty balanced headphones.

I have a lot of headphones, including most Sennheisers (580, 6xx, 650, 800s etc), and my daily driver gaming headset is a DT880 with a modmic. Unlike other posters here, I have to strongly disagree on two subjects vs Senn 580 and 6xx - comfort and soundstage. The DT880 feels lighter on the head and the velour pads are more comfortable for me over long sessions. The Senns have a vice like grip that I have adjusted but they still feel fatiguing. Secondly for game audio and positional cues, the DT880 is a superior option, IMHO. The 6xx collapses the soundstage, bleeds more external noise and I find it distracting in gameplay. I do prefer the 6xx for music out of a balanced amp.

Just my 2 cents, I'm sure others may have their own preferences.

Need to grab some better pads for mine... the felt ones that came with the all-black set are perhaps suboptimal, though they do appear quite rugged.

For those with larger heads, I can see that they may be difficult / impossible to adjust. Properly adjusted, where possible, they basically disappear. I also have upgraded pads on mine, perforated velour. Love them.

And now I pretty much have to get some pads for my DT880 set- gonna grab these Brainwavs and see how it goes :D
