I'm looking for a usb interfacing d-rgb controller so I can manage the addressable RGB's on some Inwin fans by software, on a system that doesn't have native rgb support. They have a fairly standard d-rgb 3 pin interface, so I don't think I need anything brand specific. All the controllers I've found appear to either manage the lights with their own presets and physical buttons, or interface with the (d)rgb headers on a compatible product. Any suggestions?

3pin is usually 5v and I cant find and usb connected ones with 5v. if the fans are 12v you might be able to get them to work with the corsair or cooler master rgb controllers. might want to check with inwin as to whats compatible.

The individual fans have their own proprietary interface. It's actually why I chose them, because they're designed to daisy chain. I'm just surprised to find that no one has made a standard DRGB usb adapter.

*edit* I don't know how I didn't find this sooner, it looks like it might be just what I'm looking for. I'll give it a shot and report how it works, in case anyone else is also looking for this solution.

everybody has their own standard basically. to use what you have you have to stick with inwin stuff.

I've converted entirely to DMX LED's, and a few addressable strips.

for the fans, that seem to be true. However, the dumb controller that comes with the fans accepts a drgb signal, similar to what many rgb capable motherboards have. I was just trying to find a usb solution that offers that same header. I think I've found it in the coolermaster item I linked above. It includes a breakout cable that offers the 3pin drgb signal I think I'm looking for.
