Well that's just throwing out the baby with the bathwater. There is nothing wrong with DLCs like ME2's Overlord / Arrival or ME3's Omega / Leviathan / Citadel.

If the game does well I wouldn't be surprised if they do some DLC, but not focusing on it right away does mean their entire team is prioritizing the base game and not having some split off to go work on DLC prior to launch. The downside of that, of course, being that if they do DLC down the road it will take a lot longer to come out.

Having plans is a far cry from actually assigning resources to it.

Except they have now admitted that there are cosmetics, whatever that means.

Ultimately these companies are run by pathological liars, there are plenty of examples where they have knowingly misrepresented and lied about various aspects of their products, with the consequence that anything they now claim should be treated with absolute skepticism and scorn.

And therein lies the potential problem, EA may have already been dishonest about paid cosmetics so what else have they been deceitful about. There is quite literally no limit to the bullshit they can implement post release thanks to the internet. Same thing happened with The Division, Ubisoft swore up and down there would be no microtransactions in the lead up to release, but by the time I got around to playing it the game had been stuffed with every disgusting monetisation system cherished by the AAA industry. I don't trust EA one inch. And this whole fucking downward slide into oblivion started with people being fine with paid cosmetics....all thanks to that god damn fucking horse armor.

Did you read the tweet where cosmetics were talked about? Respawn was replying to someone asking about unlocks, not purchasing cosmetics.
 
I can't wait to play this game after buying it for $10 or less and I can't wait to DM GOD'SlittleSERVANT tell him what a sucker he is for pre-ordering it.

Yes I read the tweet, they confirmed cosmetics but declined to say anymore. I didn't claim that these were in fact microtransactions, but I don't trust EA's word about anything these days so it is entirely conceivable that it may be something which is monetised considering that unlocked cosmetics are being included in the deluxe edition. Again, I am not saying that they are being monetised, I just wouldn't be surprised if they were.
 
There had better not be microtransactions of ANY kind in this game. There is NO excuse for that in a single player only title.

I know that's asking a lot from EA.

It is EA. I do not expect this to be good. They could fuck up a wet dream. Used to be different when you see respawn and lucasfilm in on a game. Nooooot nowadays. Fuckity fuck it all. Sigh.
 
Apart from the main protagonist and his weirdass bowlegged/constipated gait -- this looks pretty fun!

the force powers and lightsaber action look pretty good but something about the movement looks a bit janky...graphics also look a bit disappointing compared to the recent Battlefront games...I'm also not a fan of Cameron Monaghan as the lead playable character...he seems to lack any sort of charisma or personality...that being said this looks like the best single player SW game since Force Unleashed

I think the graphics come down to being on Console over pc?....but yea it does look ok...could be better. Sometimes gameplay is more important....I am loving the gameplay so far.

No, it isn't alpha footage. The game is out in November. The game is probably feature complete and might even be into the QA phase by this point. The game will look the same upon release.

Gameplay looks fun, but not super engaging or anything. I'm hoping they just chose a bad level to show off and that it isn't representative of the entire game.

So you think a video game that is coming out in 5 months is still in an alpha state? How many times have studios claimed to release a "beta test" of a game a week prior to release? The labels are nothing more than marketing BS to make people scream "It's just an alpha/beta stop judging it!". Stop falling for marketing bullshit.
 
Ummm, this looks much closer to what I've wanted in a Star Wars game so yeah I'm onboard with this now for sure. Jedi Academy, current generation tech.

of course the game is not in alpha stage as of today...but developers like to release older builds for public viewing so as to temper expectations

I doubt the build was THAT old. I'd buy late beta, but an alpha version with the UI implemented and zero performance dips? I rather doubt it.

I agree...the game looks very generic...almost like they were checking off items on a list of things that need to be in a SW game- droids, jedi, wookies, stormtroopers​
 
If gameplay is good I can hack so-so graphics. Haven’t bought ea in a long time not a first day buyer of any game from any body.
 
you dont want to believe what its labeled as, fine. was only pointing out what it said and nov is 6 months away. so yes it probably is alpha footage.

boooo boooo.....! ea just want mp with milk transactions. im this close to never buying a "EA" game again. talk complete neglect of their player base. if there is enough of us, EA will be gone.
 
Looks like another consolitis game trying to leech of the Star Wars IP...I'll pass...
