Acer Predator 43-inch CG437KP 4K 144Hz DisplayHDR 1000 gaming monitor

Nice to see some competition with Asus and their 43” ROG Strix XG438Q 120hz. They have been dragging their feet getting that one released... Curious how Acer is going to get 144hz out of this thing at 4K when Asus couldn't? Unless they are running multiple display ports or HDMI? Assuming they are both using the same panel

I like this monitor but I feel like the perfect monitor would be a 5K 5120X2160 Ultrawide 21:9 around 49-52"

Just curious what refresh rate that could be run at? Looking into DP 1.4 I'm guessing at least 100hz? The LG 34WK95U is a little on the small side for me and only runs at 60HZ.

DP 1.4:
4K 16:9 3840X2160 @ 120HZ
5K 21:9 5120X2160 @ ?????
5K 16:9 5120×2880 @ 60HZ

I currently have a 40" 4K @ 60hz

Yeah, I keep checking for any updates on the Asus XG438Q, and crickets...

I feel like they keep teasing us with "TEH PERFECT SCREEN!" and then it never arrives.

This has been annoying me as well. Literally no new info since CES.

my best guess is that they were blindsided by Nvidias announcement of their certification process for FreeSync and wanted in, and they have been trying to get it certified ever since.

Nothing else makes sense to me. When you have that kind of buzz you want to keep it alive and then launch a product, not let it die off...

ASUS being themselves. Their 27" 4K model was heavily delayed and so was their first 1440p high refresh rate screen. Barely any info about the Acer too.

Correct me if I am wrong but I have far more faith in ASUS delivering a good product for this type of display. I’m very happy with my PG278Q and for the XG438Q I like the split screen and pip options offered for multi-input use.

Well, to be fair, I'd rather they take their time and do it right, rather than rush it and launch crap, but being in the dark without any updates is frustrating.
