If successful , Israel will be the 4th country to land a craft on the moon , and the first time a privately funded organization does this (at a cost of mere 100$ million)


SpaceIL confirmed in a tweet on Thursday that its live broadcast will begin at 21:45 Israel time (18:45 UTC) and that the landing process will commence at 22:05 (19:05 UTC). That's from just after midday in North America. See below to check the exact landing time where you are.

Thanks for posting this video. A fascinating watch. It seems like they really took it to an extreme with using gravitational orbits for travel in order to conserve energy.

Well sadly there was a main engine failure during the decent at around 30k ft. and Beresheet crashed on the moon around 5 minutes before touchdown.
Good try though, and Israel joined the 'crashed on moon' club, and planted a flag there , just a bit deeper than planned.

Conspiracy theorists are going to have a field day with that photo...

Not saying its fake... but it totally looks like its crashing into a 3D moon image from Google Earth.

rip, there's a reason why space travel is never easy.. for a start up company though they did a damn good job to get to where they did so hopefully they can figure out what happened and try again.
