Weird because I'm pretty sure a Chinese company owns or has licensed the Kodak brand now and they are apparently slapping this branding on everything which I find rather sad.

Also, this appears to be a brand newto market product and could possible have a new Phison controller?

Specs look good.

Screw it. Bought 2. I may dissect one when they arrive to see what's inside. Even if they suck, they are probably an upgrade for an old laptop 5000 rpm drive.

from what i've been able to find they are rebranded emtec x150 SSD's..

and other warning, a lot of people have complained that emtec doesn't honor their warranties.

I saw this earlier and wondered about the controller. Hell why not

the only review i've found which is from 2015 for the 240GB drive says it uses the Phison S10 which the box for the 480 says it's using a Phison controller as well so i'd take a guess and say it's the same S10 controller.

Isn't Emtec the manufacturer Microcenter uses for their branded usb and SSD drives?

Have low expectations, but in for one It'll be replacing a 10 year old spinner, so either way it'll be an upgrade for an old desktop.
