The Division 2

First taste of Challenge mode missions getting the Chatterbox today. Oof. Got through it though and crafted it.

Coming from Destiny with a very clear way to increase the power level on guns in that game, its still not 100% clear to me how to increase the Gear Score in Division. I'm 450 when I crafted it but it dropped at 440. How do I bring it up?
Unfortunately its not like in Destiny if it drops it stays that score. So far they have not indicated any mechanic to increase scores on weapon drops, I'm hoping we can lobby then to change that.

Invite sent, should see it in the Clan Menu.

Clan name is HardOCP, but that was our last invite. If you Apply, we will get you in as soon as there is an opening. What is your Uplay name?

I thought it was the deplorables or do we have two different clans going on...

This is not entirely clear yet, plus it works differently on weapons as it does on gear. On Gear, the higher the Gear Score of the item you take the Stat from, the higher the resulting Gear Score on the piece you are recalibrating. Though it will only increase the GS a max of 15 levels above the piece you are taking the Stat from.

On weapons it does not work that way. They are what they are when they drop (as of now anyway). If you recalibrate a stat from a lower GS weapon, you can decrease the score, but raising it is either bugged, or not understood yet.

just a heads-up it's probably worth waiting to open the HardOCP weekly clan cache until after you get into WT5. When i tested this a couple weeks back the cache scaled with you as you progress world tiers.

This has been echoed by several Youtubers as well. Good tip.

There are several Secret Rooms in this game, possibly one in every mission and stronghold. I've compiled the ones we know of so far if you're interested. Some are just Easter Eggs, others have loot, some add to the lore. Enjoy:

Roosevelt Island = Lore

Washington Memorial = Loot (multiple weapon cases)

Bank HQ = Loot = Exotic D50 Blueprint AFTER you've gotten all the components

American History Museum = Loot (weapon case - key does not always spawn in the same spot)

Viewpoint Museum = Loot (weapon case)

Backpack Trophies

General Easter Eggs

I find it curious that the clan vendor apparently does NOT scale. I'm still seeing him peddle 195 and low 200s gear and so forth even though I'm at WT4.

I've got a lot of in game money and nothing to spend it on.

Yeah they need to adjust the clan vendor. I only Check his inventory if I’m looking to buy a cheap item to quickly finish a project donation.

You’ll eventually need all that money for gear recalibration.

Yesterday I noticed some weird graphical bugs while underground, went into a room and half the room seemed missing, depending on how close I was to the walls/angle I was looking at it it popped in but kept dissapearing.

Also found 2 rooms behind a door that I could open at the end of a traffic tunnel, but they were pitch black inside, not sure if there is anything there.

Don't worry about clan caches and what not. even shifting WT your stats will be low and not up to the max. I did the mission.
Seemed the AI was gimped, not many enemies shooting at me at all. WT5 crafting now is from 450-490. TBD if those are the final stats.
Weapon mods MAY be stronger with nerfs gone. a very few have dual stat mods that have high positives and lower negatives. Otherwise the stats have been reduced hard.
Skill builds have been nerfed hard also. Skillpower is reduced across the board but the benefits from mods have also been harshly nerfed. Net results = skills still trash

finally... people are still waiting on patch notes

  • Set all exotic upgrade blueprints to award you the upgraded weapon on the max gear score of the current tier
This is pretty important to fix.....glad it was found early because im about to finish up getting the chatterbox.

This change is pretty awesome, should prevent infinite waves of enemies LOL

Removed death of civilian squad as a failure condition for Control Point takeover.
  • The Officer will now remain in downed state until players complete the takeover or wipe.

It was a great farm while it lasted. =p We made a lot of credits with that.

A couple quick thoughts on the update:
- WT4 Tidal Basin is very easy (I’m sure that changes in WT5)
- The nerf to the .556 extended mag is a bummer
- FOV slider rocks!

Man, sucks to lose all your preferred weapons and have to make due with whatever you can find. I did a "Hard" invaded mission and had to resort to my Pistol a few times because it was more stable then the AK that could barely land .33% of its mag. It was sad letting go of my beautiful P416; I am now on a mission to find a suitable replacement.

I used the crafting bench to make myself some guns. Made a 473 police m4 when I was using a 460 random gun that I picked up. It can go up to 490 with some RNG for high ends and 500 for exotics if you got the blue prints.

I may resort to this, because after Tidal Basin and 2 of the 3 Invaded missions (plus scavaging all the Control Points), the game seems determined not to drop any decent weapons for me. Gear? Not bad. Weapons? Purple or something equally as useless. I'm still using the Mk16 I bought from the Clan Vendor right after entering WT5, and it has served me better than nearly everything the game has dropped.

It wasn't bad until near the end with the friggin timers and mobs swarming. That was a real unwelcome PITA.

These controls look ridiculous. Is it that bad to play?

I'm 47 and find the controls incredibly simple as a decades long PC gamer. Not sure how else to answer that.

EDIT: I do generally remap move into cover and jump/climb in these types of games and I did set the roll via movement keys to yes.

My only beef with the controls right now is the change they made to the Chem Launcher. 3 times in as many hours I thought I had a weapon in my hands, only to shoot healing gel at an enemy. It should only stay equipped if we are holding down the button.

My biggest beef with the controls is some of the buttons are mapped to multiple things but changing they keybinding in the settings doesn't change it everywhere. I had the same issue in the first game so I'm used to it and have gotten around it but it was a pain at first when I was trying to get my keys set how I wanted them.

I guess I am used to isometric action RPGs and only needing three or four keyboard buttons in addition to the mouse.

Since we’re talking controls, the latest update changed the ‘mod’ key from F to E. Now when I want to modify (add attachments) a weapon or gear piece, when I press E it dumps me into the materials menu. I have to hold E to get to the mod screen. Also when I’m moving items between my backpack and stash, which is also the E key, it backs me out a menu level every time I move an item. Anyone else seeing this?

Don’t laugh but I started playing on my HTPC with an Xbox controller and now i’m hooked.

Ya I healed the enemy a few times but If I remember I activated it I can avoid doing that. Kinda works like the launcher in Div1 if I remember right.

Haven't used the option but in settings you can bind some keys that allow instant use for skills. Might be able to use that to use the chem launcher like before. Let us know if that works, if I get a chance I will try it myself.

Just formatted and reinstalled Division 2 now that I'm on Win10.

DirectX 12 + Freesync.... The difference is night and day!!!!

- Any of you fellow Win7 hold-outs: this game is proof-positive Windows 10 has some serious performance benefits!
