Gearbox Borderlands 3 rumors

I’m glad to get a sense from the trailer that they’re not deviating too much from the BL 2 / BL PS experience. While I usually crave innovation and reinvention in sequels (within reason of course), Borderlands is the one series where I’m totally fine with more of the same in a different environment and new characters. I will say though I’ll be glad to be done with the O2 masks!

I still periodically replay the sequels to this day for the coop experience, which I think is what makes the Borderlands formula so beloved for me. Really looking forward to # 3!

Can we wait for the ACTUAL game to be released before we start condemning gearbox/2k for the possible micro transactions? No need to jump the gun....

EDIT: ya'll won't kill my excitement for the title, but cmon, CEO is on record for not being for the whole Golden key thing. Let's see how the whole thing plays out.
 
BL2 had microtransactions too in golden keys and all they did was let you get weapons that are equal to your current level and even then they gave away keys for free all the time. I dont see why they would change that, and if anything they might just add skins which effects nothing gameplay wise. This isnt EA where they lock every single piece of possible gear behind DLC. Yeah there will probably be DLC later on, but they are usually in the form of extra story lines like the old days of expansion packs. This is a day 1 buy for me as i have never been disappointed in any BL game.

Well, there is a Shift Code hidden in the trailer:

C35TB-WS6ST-TXBRK-TTTJT-JJH6H

You can put it in on BL2, and you get 5 more golden Keys and a new Salvator skin . It didn't say if they were for BL2 or BL3, but seeing as it's Salvator, prolly for BL2.

I can confirm it works for BL2 (it also mentions there are more skins to be had though not where)

This one gave me 5 keys, but it also had a count, been redeemed 3 times.
 
Well fuck... Initially Epic Exclusive. Guess I won't play it for a year... There probably isn't a bigger fan of the series than me, (I even have some related clothing like Maliwan and Hyperion shirts). I wish Milton would set fire to the Epic buildings or at least their datacenters.

Totally bummed out about it being an EGS exclusive until March/April 2020 but meh... hopefully all the early peeps playing will work out all the bugs and it will have some decent patches and tons of shift codes by the time I get to playing it.
 
Guess I'll have to take a cold shower, too. I'll wait, just tried out the epic launcher & started to set up an account, they want too much of my info, and the launcher runs as a service, so it's running all the time and yet again another company wants to grab/upload my data. And, yes, I know others have my data, I am trying to make my footprint as small as possible, so I'll wait it out.

Not sure why they're making it epic exclusive, even if it's only for 6 months, they have to know there is pent-up demand for BL3, the money that got waved under Randy's nose must have been a LOT.

Yeah, also, I'm not sure how true it is, but there was a story recently about a lot of money going missing at Gearbox. Supposedly ex-legal counsel, or maybe a financial guy or something. Can't remember off the top of my head. Either way, and regardless of what actually happened, I could see several million being waved around in front of them being pretty tempting at this point. However, as you say, this game is greatly anticipated, and will sell a ton regardless. The Epic exclusivity is asinine. I'm glad it's only 6 months as opposed to the year that most of them have been (probably because Gearbox and Take2 are a bit bigger than the other companies) but still... it's a total fuck you to many of their fans, (especially ones that choose Steam).

I expect it to be on sale when it finally hits Steam. I'm really interested to see what pricing is going to be like when 6-to-12-month-old games hit Steam after having been on Epic; depending on the game, I'll probably wait for a seasonal sale if they think they're going to get $60 for an intentionally delayed product.

It'll start at $60 on Steam for sure. Unless maybe they do a 10-15% introductory/pre-sale deal or something. If the previous iterations are anything to go by, it will go on sale for a decent price, but not until either a major Steam sale, or one of those 2K sales that hit once in a while. It won't be deeply discounted right when it hits though for sure.
 
Plus I'm waiting for the GOTY version, so it may be a little longer for my buy.

Noooooooo!!!! I just built a fourth capable PC last night, got it all set up, got a the enhanced versions of all current games installed on all four machines, but hadn't made it to grab the codes yet. I wanted that 100 key one...

that sucks, i'm guessing the 100 key one was only good for 24 hours or for the weekend or something.. but i dunno the 40 you get from the other codes is more than enough in my opinion. the weapons you get from the chest are so much stronger than everything else you can usually go for a while before having to go back and get new weapons from that chest.
