I don't know about anybody else but I hate robocalls. It's an epidemic and something needs to be done about them. At least the FTC is starting to crack down and hopefully they can stem the tide in the near future.

Robocallers should DIAF.

Four separate operations responsible for bombarding consumers nationwide with billions of unwanted and illegal robocalls pitching auto warranties, debt-relief services, home security systems, fake charities, and Google search results services have agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that they violated the FTC Act and the agency’s Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), including its Do Not Call (DNC) provisions.

I do agree it needs to go. I do only get about one every few weeks though, have had the same phone number for about 15 years.

and yet I still get on average, 5 telemarketing calls daily ........... really tired of all these robocalls..........

same.. some days it's more some it's a few less.. right now it's 7:46 and i can already see i have 3 that have been blocked on my cell phone.. i need to get rid of my california number but i just can't be bothered to notify 50+ different people at work that i changed it.

I don't answer the phone ever.. if it doesn't identify as a contact.. if it does, maybe.
This. If it is something important they can leave a voice mail. Google been good about blocking scam calls. I get a couple a week normally. I once answered a call with out thinking years ago it screwed me. For months afterwards my phone was being blown up daily. I had to turn my phone off at night cause they would call at 2 am.

Go to the Google Play store, install Mr Number. If you get a robocall, you can report it thru the app, as well as add to your personal block list. Once the app learns the scammers/telemarketer numbers from people reporting, it's auto-blocked. Pretty handy.

There is not even a point in blocking the numbers, I get a new number calling each time. This is bs but it won't be fixed.

I use calldetector on my cell but it seems to no longer be available. My home phone includes a feature called nomorobo, it worked extremely well until they started all the CID spoofing. Now I get 5+ calls a day from telemarketers who yell at my voicemail. If I'm home, I answer it and mess with them. Last guy tried to sell me solar so I tried to sell him the trees behind my house. He hung up on me after I tortured him for a good 20 minutes while I played stupid and deaf.

Lucky for me the only people who need to contact me are in my contacts already. So I have an app that auto blocks all numbers not in my contact list.

Seems to be pretty useful. Since I usually get spam calls from my home area code. Since I haven't lived there in 6 years now there is no reason for anyone outside of already known friends and family to call me. So I check the log every so often for area codes in the area I currently live and just look them up to see if it's important.

I would like to know anyone's advice on call blocker apps. I noticed https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vladlee.callblocker appears to be decently rated on Google's play store as it has quite a few blocking features.

i use hiya but it has issues blocking some of the spoofing numbers because they come up with legitimate verizon customer names of the people that previously owned the phone numbers so the app doesn't always block them. been using it since 2009 when it was called white pages. i work 5pm to 5 am so i just set an auto do not disturb between 7 am and 4pm with exceptions set for my alarm clock and phone numbers on my contact list.

Something has gone horribly wrong in the last 2 weeks or so for me. Both my cell phone and work phone (very separate numbers) have gone absolutely bonkers with every manner of spam and sales call. The work line has always been bad it just goes in cycles between light to crazy. It's crazy right now. 10-20+ calls a day on average.

But my cell phone... I don't know what bad guys have fired up in the last couple of weeks but this is on a whole different level. 30-40 calls a day. Yesterday I had to silence my phone for all calls not on my contact list. There was no other choice. This has GOT to be stopped. I pay my government too much money every year to have absolutely nothing done about this kind of harassment. As is true of most of us I NEED both my personal and work phones to be usable.

/me so happy robocalling are not a issue here, and not even human calling if you like me get on a do not call list.
Aside for me making a call tonight, last in-going call was 7 days ago and that was my mother calling, just love family and friend have finally learned to not make BS calls to me all the time.
Anything serious call me day or night, though at night my phone are of course off.

ok, so it's illegal. Where they gonna put them when we consider repeat felons are let go because there's no room at the Inn?

Maybe bring back punishment stocks

I'm horrible to these people. I'll ask them what its like to have never been loved, how they feel about dying alone with no one to care, etc. To the ones with a middle eastern accident I'll ask what its like to follow a pedophile who is currently sucking c*cks in hell. If I have the time to spare I'll do my best to make them feel like shit. Its kinda a mix between the ones that curse at me vs the ones that cry.

Honestly we don't need the ftc to do the crackdowns, we need the airforce using air raids.

same here... one day i pressed the option to speak to a person and when they answered I said "Hi, press 1 if your job is to blindly call and annoy people" lol they hung up with the quickness...
