Looking to upgrade my wife's old AMD x2 desktop running win 10.

HD should pep it up as she doesn't want to spring for a new rig.

I'm in Rhode Island 02864 and heatware is my username.

Anyone have an 2.5" ssd kicking around to unload?

Best,
Chris

Slickdeals.net. There are deals every day for 480/512gb says ssd 2.5 inch new for under $50. On something this cheap is just go new with warranty. :) Just my two cents.

About the cheapest I've found for new. Link
Not vouching for the quality of the drive, just throwing it out there.

I saw this drive and was considering it since he machine is not mission critical. Still on the fence as to which way to go. I have a few PMs to review also. Thanks for the link, I'll be looking to buy something soon.

Check inland drives at microcenter.com Dirtcheap and reliable.
I have a 120gb boot drive in my server and a 240gb in my kids pc. Both have been going strong for a while, these get my vote for cheap ssd drives.

Side note if there's a microcenter even remotely close -Took my first trip to a microcenter a while back, an hour one way, and bought way too much. It's a paradise of cheap pc stuff, well worth the trip if you need a few things. Just look up prices before going, they're not competitive on a few items but most will be cheaper than anywhere else.

There is no microcenter near Rhode Island.....I wish there was, thanks for the confidence of the kingston drive, I may look that way.

I've got 3 Crucial M4s. They have like 99% lifespan but have over 5.5 years of power on time. I used them in some 24/7 business servers. They idled 24/7 unless smacked with SQL queries. They have an insane mtbf like all flash. I think 5 years is only 0.x% of thier lifespan.

Let me know
They are 256GB versions.

I could ship you one for like $25. Mostly that is just shipping. Other wise they're worth like 5 or 10 bucks.

How much would you want for all 3 and ship to 02864?

Pay me $15 for my effort (plus whatever the prices of the items) and I will grab as many SSDs in different sizes as you want and then you create a Pick Up shipping label and I will drop them off for ya. I have an MC's within 20 mins of driving time. That way, they are brand new for ya. Let me know.

Been using 2 of these in daily rigs and they work just fine.

Been a while.......what is an MC? I'm looking for 256GB or EQ i.e. 240GB, so what would those cost then?

I would recommend the Kingston drive mentioned above. Best $29 you can spend for an SSD with a warranty.
