Picked up a new 1TB NVME, have it in a PCIE card along with 2x m.2 sata drives. Under $150

Or do I need to run it a crap ton of times to saturate caching?
 
Is it in a 4 lane electrical slot? Is it a lower-end NVMe stick? Sequential read looks a bit slow, not that synthetic benchmarks make much of a difference in real world applications.
 
Random 4K Q1 is what I look at with modern SSD drives. That's what you are more likely to notice in real world usage. Those numbers look fine.

1500MB/s...3000MB/s sequential.....what does that get you? You got bottlenecks elsewhere before those numbers start to matter.

It is an 16 physical 8 electrical pcie slot.

I suppose I could move it right next to the GPU but I think that is an 16/8 too.

I only have 24 pcie lanes and it is on the last 4.

GPU - 16
Onboard m.2 - 4
Pcie other - 4

I hope the new Ryzen 2.0 chipsets have more pcie lanes.

I paid less then $150 new so I was not expecting uber performance.
