Star Wars: Dark Forces (Unreal 4 Engine)

A fan has decided to remake Star Wars: Dark Forces with the Unreal 4 Engine and it looks amazing. Still a WIP but what is done so far....WOW....well in my opinion anyway.

Skip to the 5 min. mark if you want to see it in action.

 
Dark forces up through Jedi Academy would be amazing as is, just ported to a modern engine.

Unfortunately I expect this guy to get shut down.
 
Almost all of the LucasArts games would look good with modern graphics, thats why they're classic. You'd think it'd be a easy cash grab for EA to do that but nope, they suck.

Well finally someone else is making a proper Star Wars game that isn't technically EA but Respawn Studios. Yes they're owned by EA but judging by how good Titanfall 2 was I am confident we'll get a good Star Wars game from those guys.
 
That's fantastic. I would love to replay these with the updated graphics. I loved Jedi Outcast and Academy. Maybe it'll see light of day finished. Doubt it, but man that is cool

EA does suck but even if they wanted to go that route I doubt it would be as simple as you make it sound. I'm sure there are a lot of licensing issues involved. EA has the rights to make new Star Wars games, but they obviously don't have the rights to re-release old ones as those are still controlled by Disney. This means they also likely don't have the rights to remake or remaster those games either.

Disney may have redeemed themselves if Respawn's Star Wars game is good... I was just waiting for someone other than EA to get their hands on the license and judging by how good Titanfall 2 was i'd say Star Wars is in good hands with Respawn.

I don't trust EA one bit. They will get involved giving it is one of the big IP they have.
 
I've had this for a long while now... people are just now catching on? It's pretty cool.. no mouse invert though.. killed it for me. I am guessing the finished DF 2 remake will have mouse invert.. I will for sure play that dressed up like this. It does look gorgeous.

So apparently Disney is spinning up LucasArts.

I'm almost optimistic.
 
But why is this called Dark Forces? I though it would be a direct remake of that, but the only things in common is the theme and the fps view. I expected an original Dark Forces map.
