Top 15 Steam Games by Daily Player Count, 2015-2018

Should I own Ark lol?

Half-joking but wow.... I had no idea the game has been consistently so popular for all these years.

Crazy money.

Also, watching PUBG crawl from it's beginnings beating H1Z1 to 3 million concurrent was INTENSE!!

All that tells me is there are too many people with bad taste in games :ROFLMAO:.

Yeah I agree.
The only game on that list I actually liked was TF2. I got over 1000hrs on it, but then again, I haven't played it since 2011. So I have no Idea how it has changed with the Steam Workshop and all. Hell I even paid for it, now that it's been F2P for years....

I stopped playing TF2 about half a year after the Mann-Conomy update. Funnily enough, it was my first real exposure to microtransactions and loot boxes, and I immediately despised it. I admittedly spent around $25 on keys before questioning what I was doing and straight up quitting the game.

I had no clue H1Z1 and Payday 2 were that popular. I've never even heard of Paladins.

Paladins is made by HighRez who make Smite, it's a really shitty Overwatch clone with tons of n00bs. My kids play it for the lolz.

To be fair, Paladins came out just 4 months after Overwatch. I don't think a game can be developed in that amount of time.

Some of the comments just shows me you're bad at multiplayer games :D

that was actually more interesting then i thought it would be.. what really surprised me was how quickly CSGO and dota 2 died when battlegrounds came out yet the average count of the top 4 to 15 didn't really change all that much. that no mans sky top 3 to gone in a week was pretty funny though and can't also surprised civ 5 stayed in the top 15 even when civ 6 came out for at least another year.

also fk TF2, TFC was a way better game.

I also thought it was interesting that DOTA 2 and CS:GO numbers remained very stable the whole time. It's cool to see that so many people are still playing Rocket League. It's a great game.

Popularity is no indication of quality. "Pop music" literally "Popular Music" is commonly among the least ambitious, most calculated, most boring. It uses cheap gimmicks and hooks. Only real music lasts all that other BS is here today and gone tomorrow. It's also the most corporate, designed (calculated), and backed by big publishers with big dollars.

Gaming is no different.

Fun to watch and remember what caused a number of those bumps in users lol.

I played TFC so much and really loved it until they started testing TF2 stuff in there like teleporters and blah. TF2 was awesome when it launched. Different but true to the team aspect the first was missing. Fortress Forever filled the TFC next gen need good enough. After the first few rounds of new weapons came out TF2 started going down hill. Was still fun until crates, hats and the really stupid OP items came out :(

Some of these games are played outside of steam as well. would change things a bit except the top one

I still play BF BC2 on steam a lot, theres at least half a dozen servers open.
