Hehe, well yeah. Sort of a tradeoff if you put your phone in something that heavy duty.Good charger, but an OtterBox is just a bit too thick. Shame.
I have a thin metal plate on my phone for my car mount. Does that stop the wireless charging completely?
Damn. That’s sort of a deal breaker with wireless charging altogether. I love having mounts that are magnet based. So much better than the click mounts. I was excited to be able to just drop my phone when I go to sleep. Instead of trying to find the lightning cable connection on the bottom of my phone. Thanks for the info!Yep, should stop it entirely. We tried it on a caseless S9 with the metal plate, didn't work. Worked with an otterbox symmetry case, but not with an otterbox commuter on a Note 8. On the S9, the wireless charging coil is so centered that we can't even move the plate to allow for it. On the Note 8, we could move the plate just below the coil and it would work if we biased the phone a bit away from the plate on this charger. Ended up with an unused wireless charger since I can't have either my SO or my oldest without a case on their phones. I'll stick with my essential until it dies or signal issues bug me enough to switch phones.
