WD - Easystore 10TB + 32GB USB $160

Thanks for posting this I'm in for one. I've been needing a upgrade from a 2tb drive

That's crazy low price for 10tb drive. Must resist, must resist...…..

I got the 8tb version last week for $140 and the drive is model wd80emaz-00wjta0 - is anyone here an expert on these drives that can tell me if this is the better drive or not?

Thanks! I'm going to pick one up. This will be perfect for transferring my ZFS contents so that I can upgrade my pool. I'm hovering right around the 10TB mark

I just did almost an 11 tb zfs migration. Took from Saturday until last night. It'd have been much faster across the same bus, of course.

Was that with the drive connected to the same physical host though or was there LAN traffic involved? 11TB over 5 days is kinda slow :( About a quarter of what it should be able to do...

Ugh. It was a 6x4tb zfs2 to a 16x4tb zfs2 over a gigabit lan. Two different boxes.

I was referring to my 8gb compared to the other 8gb drives that you can get, not my 8tb versus the 10tb. Sorry if that made no sense,
Unless something has changed, the general consensus is that it's the same as a RED drive with a white label to keep people from shucking the external drives and selling them as red drives, which sell for quite a bit more. I've got both, but I never benchmarked them. They were going in my NAS and they're all going to be fast enough to stream 4k movies, so problem solved.

+1. Exact my thinking. They work perfectly in QNAP.

Bought 8 time to start moving out my 8 6tb blacks. Speed on this things all seem the same now

Ooo. Should fire sale those. On the ultra cheap. To some deserving, enterprising young [H]ard[H]ead.

Hmm, now it's gone for real. Maybe not coming back at all.
They’ll be back. Wait two weeks. These WD external drive deals are great prices and repetitive. The 8TB drives have basically been at the same deal price ($140-180) regularly on sale for the last year +. Maybe slowly dropping $5 on the sale point every month or two. The 10TB drive deal will be back, just like the 8TB drive deal.

Yeah but maybe not this version with the 32GB flash drive included. I think they were clearing out the stock of that version since there is a similar listing now w/o the flash drive included. I guess we'll see in a couple of weeks.

Yeah and the flash drive is not worth much but it is a nice addition..... for a drive I was going to buy anyways.

I always seem to lose a drive right when I want to do a fresh install of windows :)

Do these still have annoying clicks every 5 seconds? Drove me nuts.
