Looks like Asus has started rolling out 0070 for Ryzen 3. Interesting!

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't true Ryzen 3 (Zen2), but just APUs that are now 12nm instead of 14nm, as the rumor-mill was turning about new APUs in April to beat the upcoming Intel chips with a beefier iGPU. Not that it's bad news, as plenty of folk run those APUs! Hopefully we see some new laptops pop up with 12nm Ryzen :D

0070 is a restart of the numbering scheme (AGAIN) and the last time they did it, it added support for Zen+

The official AGESA 1.0.0.6 added support for Zen+ and is still used today. Like you say, it may be a restart of the numbering scheme because I get some conflicts on the research of the 1.0.0.7 version.

To borrow from a post on the AMD Reddit...

AMD Reddit said:
The issue is that no one states the full AGESA version.

First we had SummitRidgePI-1.0.x.x.
We then had RavenRidgePI-1.0.x.x. (version # did not reset to 1.0.0.0)
Now we have PinnaclePI-1.0.x.x. (version # reset to 1.0.0.0)

Summit Ridge is Zen (Ryzen 1xxx series), Raven Ridge is Zen APU (Ryzen 2200G and 2400G), Pinnacle is Zen+ (Ryzen 2xxx series except 2200G and 2400G)

Regardless, the naming convention is a complete shitshow.

That is true. Which in conjunction with your last post highlighting those facts, it very well could be a fresh start.

Instead of making it even more confusing by just calling "something-PI" they've opted to just go generic as illustrated by phatbx133 's post with "Combo AM4".

What I find most interesting is the inclusion of "AM4" now...
I'd speculate that's signifying Zen2 will be the last AM4 chip (aside from Zen2+ refresh), and that they're just setting it up for Zen3 to include AM5?
That or they've forked the AGESA for Desktop and MCM chips (TR and EPYC), to differentiate, so they don't package it with the wrong AGESA?

Wasn't it said in another thread that the BIOS is getting a bit cramped with all the CPUs and the older X370 boards with smaller EEPROMs were of possible concern for holding all the code? (I mean, total rumor, but, plausible...)
