The current plan has shifted to planning on picking up a 9900x when it is available...barring por reviews. I want the PCI lanes.

Everything is kind of stalled waiting for someone to make a block for the 2080ti FTW3. If the 9900x is available before then, I may close the loop and run the card on air temporarily.

FINALLY got the EVGA Hydro Copper waterblock. I'm still running my 7820x waiting to see if I am going to pull the trigger on the 9900x or just HODL. I finally closed the loop and am currently leak testing.

Well...I ended up making the title of this thread accurate in the long run. I swapped to the 9900k z390 setup and stuck with the EVGA Dark boards but changed my CPU block to a Heatkiller IV Pro Copper NI...

I bought my chip from someone who was doing a round of binning. It was sold to me as a 5.1Ghz chip dellided with a Rocketcool copper IHS installed. It seems to be as advertised. I appear to be 24/7 stable at 5.1Ghz (no AVX offset) at 1.32v with x47 cache and memory running 4200 17-17-17-37.
I have run 12hrs Prime95 (no AVX)blend, 1hr Prime95 (no AVX) Small ffts, 4hrs OCCT Small Set, 2hr RealBench 16gb, 1hr AIDA64, and 1hr Karhu RAM Test.

Everyday 24/7 stable setting...
