This is the lowest price for a 55" LG OLED that I've seen yet (previously $1300 or so). Absolutely INCREDIBLE sets. They might be blowing them out in preparation for the 2019 models which will make even better gaming sets, but this is still an excellent deal. I've been gaming on my B7 for almost a year and a half and it's jaw-droppingly gorgeous. I'll only upgrade when support for 4K/120Hz and VRR support is added.

For 2017 (the "7" series, i.e. B7, C7, E7, W7, etc.) all of the models shared the same panels and processing, with the only real differences being in the aesthetics and inclusion of a soundbar (or not).

For 2018 (the "8" series, i.e. B8, C8, E8, G8, W8) this was still largely the case with one exception: the B8 didn't share the A9 processor of the others. Main differences there being in the level of noise reduction, color accuracy, etc).

With that being said, those are fairly minor points and most people wouldn't notice a difference without having the two side by side and even then it'd be questionable. We're talking small differences here, as is commonplace with the high-end Samsung and Sony sets where many times the flagship models with the best processors are a lot more expensive but people may not notice a difference in picture quality.

In short, I wouldn't worry about missing out on anything if someone is looking for a great price on a new OLED and this fits the budget. And before spending more on a C8/E8/etc. I'd just wait for the 2019 sets which will be a far more substantial upgrade than going to a higher end model in the same generation.
