Wow- really quiet here since, well...

So I'm going to bump this to say Fortuna (Venus open world) is out, bigger and much better than Earth's open world. That's right Jenny, To separate open world sandboxes in the same game!!1!. Fortuna is Corpus bases, has a (imho) better storyline than earth, and brings hoverboards and the toughest boss fight yet. Even better is that the boss fight is basically optional. after the story you can repeat or not depending on your enjoyment of it, but nothing unique drops there. A pile of new weapons, tons of new operator cosmetics, and a couple of new Warframes.
 
I love warframe, I think it is a fantastic game, one of the best ever. Fantastic progression system as you start from a weak nothing to become a god. The big flaw is that there is no endgame, and any new content they produce does not actually make an endgame. The way progression works once you have all the frames and weapons and mods and MR then there is nothing else to achieve. Rivens maybe. So with new content you get the new mods, rankings and gear and then there is no longer any reason to do the content. It does not scale like say rifts. Arbitrations were added but then the rewards do not scale compared to time investment. That being said I still log in daily and do sorties and the syndicate missions and crafting a forma. I enjoy finding all the medallions...

I partly agree with you, but also think that just running missions with friends and whatnot are the endgame. I'll skip fashionframe jokes, but I do know people that do nothing but build insane landers and dojos...
 
I finally did it.

I got Warframe up to date and have been playing it here... and I couldn't be more blown away. Wow has this thing evolved since the three years I last played it.

These guys have definitely earned some money out of my pocket in the near future. It's a testament to the game that I haven't played it at all in three years or so and I was able to get my bearings, jump in, and after a few minutes I was right back into it.

This game really could teach Destiny, Division, and some of the others some tricks in some areas.

Anthem wishes it were this game.

Yep, on all counts. I'm Psychonosis in game- holla if you need clan tech or a hand catching up. I'm off and on all weekend and at least a little every evening.

I started playing back in late November / Early December. Going slow and just generally having a good time. Have not left Earth yet though.

Wow- there is so much more to experience! What story missions have you finished? I don't wan to spoil anything but the dream quests really open up the game.

Don't even know what those are :D Came in completely blind and ignorant and just jumped right in lol.

I did the initial mission to get the thing out of my leg, then did a few other areas and then started towards whatever mission was next from the ship console to the left of the nav system. Working on collecting some key pieces now in the open area on earth. I think I opened up the exit to Venus and another planet but have not left yet. Completion in me wont move on till the stuff I can do now on earth is done hah.

I can see that before long I will need to look into mods beyond the auto equip thing though.

I definitely have to get my bearings back but I was able to jump in, play, and get some things done. My character is 4 years old. It's hard to believe.

Is there a way I can post my character profile here, for example, and solicit some tips and advice?
 
Don't use auto-equip... like ever. Choose mods that add damage only unless you are going for some specific build. For character profile, just take a screenshot. although as a warning you probably won't be able to do much with it at this point because you will be lacking most of the mods.

If you guys are going to play a lot then work on getting your MR up. The game becomes significantly easier/more rewarding with a high MR.

To level stuff up, I'd suggest coop defense fissures. Reason being you will get primes which are worth plat, collect more relics, void traces and shared affinity. There will usually be high level players around who nuke everything and level your stuff up. In regular/solo missions just take maxed out weapons.

Use the marketplace and click on weapons, blueprints only, to see what stuff you can build. Buy those blueprints and build them. Always have a bunch building. Once you level a weapon up, nuke it and move on to the next. If you run out of stuff to level you can get the MK1 weapons which cost credits only. There are only a few of them,

For pricing info use http://warframe.market . If you buy plat, then I'd suggest spending half of it on slots and the other 1/2 on essential mods. You can grind them out but that is going to be much harder.

What he said, and I'll add one more:

When putting mods in a weapon, look at crit chance and status chance- generally you will want to try to boost one as much as you can.

Oh- also don't be afraid to google builds for any weapon that you like- there are min/max types everywhere that have probably come up with builds that you might not stumble upon. I know I have been surprised how much better a good build was than what I had on it by gut instinct.

its a pretty interesting concept. stolen from other games, but yeah. Arcane energize market value appears to be trashed since it is a reward, with drop from 250p to 188p for now. But even so it looks to be a pretty long grind to get to that reward, and you will probably have to earn everything before the mission cycle completes to be able to get the good stuff, like the umbra formas. Anyway it gives a good reason to play for more than just the daily sorties and forma

In the early goings by changing the alerts over to this I have to get something going to get some Nitian. Overall I suspect it's a positive change but will likely need refinements like anything else would when they gauge lots of real world feedback.
 
Have you bumped into the wolf yet? He surprised a couple of MR5~ish types with me last night... Doesn't help that he seems to be immune to CC. It was an interesting fight!

I am annoyed that so far I've done four bounties and still can't nab some Nitian even though I picked bounties that potentially offer it. I wish some of these items weren't quite as scarce and hard to come by. I have a lot of credits. I'd gladly blow some to get some of these items easier.


I'm also having a whale of a time on Uranus with that Rosalind Spy Sub mission. I just can't get it done. (Watching youtube)

Great video. Nice music. Last night in frustration I logged on there and was all set to alt tab this thing and lo and behold...two people joined the squad and got the damned thing done and I basically went along for the ride. Boy, did I luck out on that one!
 
Spy vaults confounded me until I watched that video. I swear it should be mandatory training to clear MR10... (Mostly joking)

clans work somewhat differently in warframe. they provide access to blueprints which you will need. making blueprints requires tons of research from lots of active members. lots of people here have played warframe, on and off, but I'd question if there were enough active at once to make it successful.

I got the Paracyst blueprint and made it 3 years ago, so I just need to get back into it. But it should already be a successful clan or at least have had its day and kept all the blueprints.

Also, clan research cost goes up dramatically when the clan gets bigger, so there are a ton of tiny clans. But if anyone is interested I'd be down with starting a [H]clan...

I kind of wish they would make an actual SP game. I mean they have like all the tools. PoE2 is pretty amazing. Looks much much better than before.
 
Yeah, and the new Thumper tanks are a pretty cool encounter. I like that they are tough, but you can figure it out on the fly.

If I recall correctly Decaying Sentients were the quest only version that don't drop cores.

Eh, build a catchmoon, it kills the fuck out of regular sentients, immunity and all. Probably the best weapon in the game, especially with the buff to not catch on items. Build it for max crit and it will do 70k damage per trigger pull. obliterates everything, does not need a riven.
