Hi mates. I got an Asus x99-WS/IPMI mainboard. Now I also got to install a dual-slot video card in the *last* slot of the board, the one closest to the lower edge of the mobo.

I need a case that allows some space between the edge of the board and the PSU, otherwise the video card wouldn't fit.

Can you offer some suggestions? Thanks!!

Well, if you're looking for a VERY big case, you could always get what I got, a Thermaltake Core X9 E-ATX (I got mine from Amazon in 2016). It's 19.8" x 15" x 25.2" (and about 37.5 lbs unloaded), but you'll have room for days. You can also get more/different drive cages and other accessories from Thermaltake (I ended up getting a second non-window side as I see absolutely no point in side windows) and whatnot to "trick" it out if you so desire.

Fractal Design XL R2:

I have one myself, it's steel so it is heavy but it has a ton of room inside as it is rated for E-ATX/XL-ATX.

At first glance it looks like a standard ATX tower case w/PSU at the bottom, but if you look carefully It has *9* card slots instead of the usual 7.

That means not only will you have a gap between the PSU and the card, you'll also have the venting for the dual-slot card. In fact you can put in a triple-slot card like the ASUS CuII series.

Thermaltake WP200 or WP100. If that's still not enough space, you can always increase the space with the pedestal case that can either go ontop of or below the core

10 card slot cases. The WP200 has enough space to house two full computers (Not just an ITX motherboard).

I like these cases because they're very much a knock of of Case Labs cases. Since Caselabs shuttered their doors, this was the next best thing to get.

The Cougar Panzer Max is a high airflow (3x 140mm up front) case with 8 slots.

I've had it for 6 months and it's dead silent - inaudible - with a 5Ghz 7700K and an OC 1080Ti with an AC cooler.

Biggest con is that the filter is a bit more "airflow" and a bit less "dust proof" that I would prefer, but it's still reasonable.

I found another good alternative: the nanoxia deep silence 5 rev.B

It has 10 slots!

WP100 and cougar panzer max are both viable alternatives, BUT the former seems to be a bit overkill (and weighs a ton!), while the second is a tad game-ish.. I'm building a deep learning workstation...

Just upgraded from my Antec DF-85 to a Corsair 780T. I thought the Antec was big until I got this case. Plenty of room.

The Ultra is a much more professional looking case, which pretty much addresses what I hate about the Thor. Nice find.

Yeah I love it, had it since 2012. I took out all the internal fan mesh/filters and have ran it with the stock fans (which all still work). I did break off one of the front casters though, wheeling it across the kitchen when I moved. It is a heavy bastard fully loaded with drives.

The Corsair 750D also has 9 expansion slots. The thermaltake W200 is no longer available, the W100 is.
