Hello,
I already made some researchs but I found many different feedback : people who have issue with UEFI, memory gap, and we can also see people benchmarking RTX2080 8gb with asus P6T deluxe.
I have an asus P6T deluxe with last bios 2209 rev 12(b2). I want to upgrade my xeon l5640 to a x5650 oc and 760gtx to 2060 or 2070 RTX.
Does any of you managed to test this configuration ?
Thank you !

I put a 5660(23x multiplier)in a P6T just a few days ago,cheaper than $20us and works nice
maybe will test a used RTX some day but 980GTX does good at 2560x1600 for most games

My wife is currently running the Asus P6T and an X5675 @ 4.2Ghz with an RX 580 OC. Not exactly RTX 2060 performance, but the X58 platform is still very capable of supporting modern GPUs and playing modern games well.

Given its age, I personally feel what X58 + Westmere can do in today's games and software is more impressive than what Z68 + SB can.

Yes, it will do fine. I had a p6t deluxe v2 sporting a xeon 5675 at 4.4 ghz with a Vega 64 (air converted to liquid cooling and overclocked) until I built me a 2700x system. It is now my home server minus the gpu.

Get a Vega 56 or GTX 2060. 2070 is overkill unless you are going above 1440p.

I still have mine Evga X58 3Way Sli Rev 1.2 A1 drop in support bought new with water blocks and two cpu's i7 930 and X5660 all in the closet .. Ryzen 5 1600 replaced it but I remember something about these boards having chipsets that force SLi or CX to work or maybe I am wrong on that , but I always like slot 1 and 3 for CX because of air gap was a whole 2 slot card .

Just remember that you cannot OC those CPU's.

xeons on X58 mobo are OCable.
Dual xeons? only on the EVGA SR2, best mobo ever.

I love reading about x58 still being used. I'm still rocking x58 myself. Such a good investment all these years ago.

A x58 Xeon hex core can still hold its own.

Only for some games... but for some I just wanted to throw it in the trash when running a 1080 Ti (5650 @ 4.1Ghz)

Overwatch ran amazing but PUBG ran slower than my laptop.

Nah not OS or PC problem, just the fact that PUBG was/is un-optimized and the chip isn't exactly new. Was getting 30-40fps minimums with some stuttering here and there while averaging 60-90fps late 2017. Upgraded to Ryzen 1600 @ 4Ghz and got about 50-60 minimums, upgraded again to my current system 8700K @ stock and it would be extremely rare to see my min. fps dip below 70-80 so I stuck with this system. All systems were configured correctly on fresh OS installs while Ryzen was running same memory as 8700K (3200 CL 14 B-Die)

This is just my experience from one game back in late 2017 so take what I say with a grain of salt, the game could run super great now but from playing it daily a few weeks ago people on my squads were still complaining about FPS so idk.

I didn't feel like the Ryzen 1st gen system was a worth upgrade over the Xeon setup at all especially for $600 back then (CPU/Motherboard/Ram) but the 8700K system was for about $200 more.

To the OP, I would just upgrade your card to the one you want and decide when playing your games if the CPU is good enough or if you need to go shopping.

Certainly more impressive than what Bulldozer can do :dead:
