Tri-op battle royale style game with Overwatch style heroes. Stumbled upon it on release day and have seen youtube blowing up with positive feedback. Have yet to install, but if you have Origin already, it's Free-to-Play, might as well give it a shot if three person squad team deathmatch sounds like your thing, or if you like Overwatch but want a larger scale.
 
Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't have bought this more than likely, but I'll give it a whirl if I can do it for free.
 
It's an amazing game in all honesty. Great in-between for those that enjoy fast-paced gameplay without the building handicap Fortnite presented. Coming from Quake Champions, I find the gameplay insanely addictive and well-rounded... will be throwing at least $30 towards the item shop to support the devs.

Also RIP Fortnite? This game might actually dethrone the beast.
 

Here's hoping. Little kids will stick to Fortnite but anyone else over the age of 12 will find Apex Legends more engaging and less of a Saturday morning cartoon.

Yes dude, loving this game so far. I haven't been super about a game lately, and this has sparked my desire to really game again.
 
It is a pretty good game. My only issue is that for some reason in the training mode the guns are predictable and feel "right" while in an actual game the guns feel funky sometimes. It's hard to explain.

Combat is awesome, moba elements add a lot to the game, the map is good...
 
It can be fun, but I warn you, it's *VERY* fast-paced. You need to always be moving to survive.
 
I love the game. Fun fast pace at times or slow too. I can't wait for new maps and characters.
 
I played this yesterday, and even though I explained I had not played it before, was promptly yelled at constantly for not knowing how everything worked.

This happened three more times, and finally I said F it. I do love so much that people have the time to yell at me, but not actually ever provide any tips or answers to direct questions.

Sorry you dealt with that man. I've had that happen and I've many hours in the game. Please don't think most are like that but I wouldn't blame you for having a sour opinion after that experience.

When I play with new gamers I explain what to do and why and even when I lose I'll only express gratitude for their effort.
 
Any single player mode added yet? I know a lot of people has requested it. I don't even own a mic and don't have any friends to play with and not interested in playing with strangers (I know you could simply ignore the other two but it's a bit awkward too)

They're working on single and duo versions I believe.

I hope so, I've been interested in trying this game, I tend to enjoy more fast paced fps games being into for example Unreal Tournament when it was popular, while Fortnite is indeed fast paced, I just don't care for the building part of it. Over(pass)watch (EDIT: too much CSGO spectating for me today haha) again was slightly too slow paced and cartoony and didn't offer the kind of movement I enjoy (a bit too stale).

I know exactly what you mean although, its does start to feel better, basically the guns in-game seem to be projectile based with a short drop off period for the fired bullets.

In the tutorial however that drop off doesn't appear to exist.

I'm enjoying it a lot more than PUBG and CS:GO which i find very boring.

I have had one instance of this, but the rest of the time it has been fine. In settings tell it to convert VOIP to Text, turns off others microphones and converts what they say to text instead..

few tips:

1. Break off from the group when dropping and land nearby so your not all fighting over the same guns/ammo.
2. The game will show items your not able to use in your inventory, drop these for your team mates (right click on items with a red circle)
3. Guns have a drop off at different ranges, so you may want to fire a few bullets first and adjust aim accordingly
4. Try to keep high up, Pathfinder is good for that.


Finally if you have Prime there is a Twitch Prime offer on at the moment for skins and 5 loot boxes. https://twitch.amazon.com/prime/loot/apex?ref_=SM_OM_APEX1_LPB

If it doesn't work(didn't for me), add "+twitch_prime_linked 1" to your command line arguments under "Advanced Launch Options".

I'll look into the VOIP settings. Would it turn my voice into text for them too? Because the other problem is annoying harassment, which I could do without. I don't get that (much) in other games, but it was very prevalent in Apex, I'm guessing a younger crowd.

Hit tab and mute the kids/morons. Don't hesitate. Ask for info/help if you're confused there are some decent people out there. You really don't need to use the VOIP if you don't want to, the ping system works fine typically.

I haven't played much but haven't heard anything annoying and haven't had any douchbagery happen. one really high rank guy just split us two lowly noobs, had two guys with hundreds of kills give me the "we got you" bit and we came in second. otherwise seems people ignore me if im not keeping up. nothing "toxic" yet but wouldn't let it get to me anyways.

My team. It's very possible it was just a bad run of losers, that can always happen. Certainly didn't help make a positive first impression. Actually, now that I think about it - I was sick at home and played during the day. That may have skewed the demographic from "employed normal people" a bit which I normally encounter.

It's not that attitude and sass is a huge deal to me (I'm no spring chicken and have thick skin), but it's just a "I have limited time to play something, and will seek something where I receive less crap" sort of thing.

As for the game itself, the gunplay and movement felt solid, so (especially since Free) I'm willing to plug away at it a bit more.
 
The game is pretty fun. I hope there's more maps coming out in the near future. Yea shitty people suck. I would just mute them.
 
Level 47 now and still enjoying it. Yeah I want skins but not really a big deal when the gameplay is so addictive.

I've only encountered a few kids and they haven't been toxic. But I play mostly at night so.

Full yellow load out.... The mastiff I get, comes from supply drops a lot. Yellow armor, helm and wingman as well? How the hell, Ive never found more than 2 yellow items besides a few more attachements.

I found a yellow helmet last night. didn't help much, I still died...
 
Tried this game and it's fun, but I prefer the other free BR available on steam- Ring of Elysium.
 
Its a fun game but man I suck at it. Don't get old kids. I can still duke it out in Unreal Tournament tough :bucktooth:
