Trying to get my new card setup. Uninstalled my old card drivers (AMD) then used DDU in safe mode (wtf is up with win10 and safe-mode?) Then installed newly DL'ed Nvidia drivers from Nvidia. Vr.418.91(and others)
Win10-64bit OS
Install message- Nvidia Installer can't continue. This Nvidia graphics driver is not compatible with this version of windows.

I have rechecked and redowloaded. Same result.

Checking the web the consensus seems to be a reinstall of Win10. F-that!

Please help.

it is probably due DCH/standard driver.. your machine probably have pre-installed DCH drivers when you installed the GPU and you downloaded standard driver which can't be installed over the other.. (you can check it out in GPU-Z advanced page..) so, download again standard driver (in the nvidia download page below language selection).. run DDU and set to prevent windows to install automatically drivers , reboot and install your downloaded drivers.

DCH are a new windows driver format "read more here"

Hi Araxie. GPU-Z is showing DCH/UWD - No. I had already run DDU again though.

That means you won't be getting any feature updates, just security updates. Just curious, why did you install the LTSB version?
I believe it was done for simplicity of operation. Will this have any impact on my driver install?

Nvidia gives standard and DCH as driver options. Both don't work, but is one preferred?
As well I'm just DL'ing stock Nvidia drivers off their site. Araxie, I'm not sure what you mean by bellow the Language selection? When on the site I don't see such options. Is there hidden/non-standard drivers?

You are required to download the NVIDIA control panel from the Windows Store if you use the DCH version. The DCH version also has stability issues that the standard version does not from what I've read. I've only ever used the standard version. Note that you should be disconnected from the internet or have driver updates disabled, or else Windows will automatically download and install the DCH driver version from the Windows Update server.

The RTX cards also require you to be on at least version 1803 of Windows 10. You need version 1809 for ray tracing.
