Here Are The Metro Exodus Unlock Times

You do realize that cracked games still have Denuvo enabled, right? The cracks trick Denuvo into thinking the game is legit, they do not remove or disable it. There are no real performance differences between legit and cracked versions of most (as there are some that do disable the DRM) games. The only way to get better load times and potentially (entirely on a game-by-game basis) performance is if Denuvo is removed via a patch.
The sooner it gets bypassed then the sooner the developers will remove it from the game. Mega Man 11 and Hitman 2 no longer has Denuvo, I wonder why?

Nice use of a logical fallacy there. You pick up a couple select examples to try and prove something while conveniently ignoring all the other cracked games that never had Denuvo removed as well as the ones the had it removed long after they were cracked.

You simply don't understand the scope of the issue. I don't mind competition for steam. I mind bad competition for steam, which means bad things for us.

define bad competition? steam can lower its fees and it would stop pissing off companies. Its bad competition because its not on steam? Seems good for my wallet $10 cheaper on epic store. So since when we started defining cheaper price to end user with a bad competition. So yea I get it because I speak with my wallet.

To continue to pay for Denuvo must have a good reason, probably DLC. Also based on pricing they probably can't drop Denuvo as they probably paid for it up front. Stop defending Denuvo as it's proven to slow game loading speed and lower frame rates. Metro Exodus is definitely going to be a demanding game that could benefit from now having Denuvo.

Some pay upfront and others pay per copy. However, paying up front does not prevent them from removing it at a later date.

You need to learn to read better. Nothing I said was a defense of Denuvo. Making factual statements backed up by the very videos you posted is not defending anything. Its not my fault you insist on using logical fallacy arguments and throwing your goal post at different points in every post you make. You are making wild statements that have nothing to do with your original post or my reply to you. It is clear you have no fucking defense against my original post and just want to throw any shit at the wall in hopes of getting a "gotcha" on me. It's not going to work kiddo.

I think you like to argue.

Waiting for it to unlock for offline play, whatever that might be. I'm definitely not buying it on tencent store.
I might even download the cracked version after not pirating any game for over a decade. Job well done deep silver, job well done.

Hey if you are looking to pirate a game don’t need an excuse for it. Cuz there is no excuse good for pirating. You are pirating because you are looking for an excuse to pirate I guess.

You keep telling yourself that, you might even convince yourself. I'm looking to play the game, without risking my privacy and data, and without being left out to dry when the internet goes down (which is pretty common here). Or do I need to start explaining supply and demand to you?

I thought steam has already proven that above all else people were looking for convenient service to stop pirating.

Anytime someone justifies pirating I stop listening to explanations. You can tell yourself whatever you want. Pirating is pirating. Nothing personal but please don't expect me to agree with you or anyone finding a reason to pirate. Thats all I am saying. see below let me help you not pirate.

I just can't stop giggling here. You actually convinced yourself that I was sitting here for the past 10 years looking for an excuse to finally pirate a game? If that was my goal do you not believe me capable of coming up with other excuses before? LOL

Man, you don't have to play. I am done arguing here. Again don't justify pirating to me. Just go do it and stop bragging about it. Do you really expect people to understand pirating, like its some kind of revolt to justify it. Oh don't give me the privacy excuse lol. Get off google, facebook, heck don't even browse the net while you are at it. You were complaining about the offline mode which is already available. Lets ignore one another and move on.

Giggle and pirate away no need to justify it lol.

Not sure if they've done it or not yet, but Epic is supposedly going to roll out an automated refund system like Steam has. Hopefully that will solve one of those issues.

I doubt my post went over your head, so I must conclude that you're ignoring the facts on purpose. Going back to the original post which caused you to go berserk: Whether I pirate the game or not is completely irrelevant to the arguments. I was pointing out that the decision of deep silver is driving people to look for other options, even those who wouldn't even consider pirating before. I agree that pirating is morally wrong, but you should also realize that their privacy policy is morally wrong as well. Yes two wrongs doesn't make a who cares, but both parties are at fault if the game gets pirated more due to their idiotic decision to become an epic store exclusive. If all you can see is an excuse for piracy then I'm done trying to dig your head out of the sand.

So two of the problems are gone, or at least promised to be fixed. Now the only issue remaining is their awkward privacy policy. And if it is updated favorably to be in line with GDPR then I'll immediately buy the game, even if that won't convince the likes of NKD who think I'm looking for excuses to pirate.

Wait I have a better idea: I'll buy the retail version and play the cracked version without having to deal with the epic store.

Most of the issues will be resolved. I am extremely against piracy. I assure you I get along with everyone pretty well there may be one thing we disagree on but there can be a million other things we agree on. But in all honesty, I really can't support any reason to pirate the game. That's all. No harm no foul. To each his own. I am sure you are a great person but this is one issue we don't agree on. Honestly, I am all about privacy but these days its hard to control it. So we can beat that on its head but companies will always find a way to use our data, google, facebook, you name it. It's just the way it is. Its sad but true so I don't see it being the reason for me to not play a game.

I never understood this love for steam. Damn all the developers for making a game that is badass and want to make some profit and not have to pay up the ass steam fees. Do people play games for steam or games for the sake of games? Everyone wants to boycott stuff if its not on steam, instead, no one wants to tell steam to start competing and lowering their fees. No if they screwed over everyone who bought on steam that would be a different story. They all will get to play and get their updates through steam.

Tencent, millions of accounts breached, disregard for GDPR, no refunds, always online-DRM (no offline mode) -- Epic isn't competing with anyone and desperately trying to gain a foothold before that Fornite money dries up.
Personally, I prefer GoG to Steam, but Epic (Tencent) spyware is even worse and not in any way an alternative. So yes, I will wait at least until 2020 or just not play the game at all (and this is from someone who imported every single Metro Universe novel from Germany).

The only people who get to play on steam were those who pre-ordered on steam. Everyone else who pre-ordered at third party sellers or physical copies expecting to get a steam key will get an epic key instead.
As for the "ass" steam fees, with the sales projections of this game, it is likely that they'd have gotten more revenue on steam in the long run (reduced percentages after x amount sold) even if we assume that they didn't loose a single sale on the switch. If we include that too, then it is likely that they are loosing a great chunk of their profit with the move. I don't know what size the check was that tencent wrote to deepsilver but it must have been tens of milllions of dollars for this to make financial sense.

I have watched some of a walk through now. Not only is it a corridor shooter, its got narrow corridors. ;)

I've been playing it for the last 4 hours, it's actually quite open. Yes there are instances where you do get channeled in certain directions. But you have options on the map of where you can find interest points. I'm really enjoying it so far and the game world is quite stunning.

And you have to wonder how much money from that deal actually wound up in the developers' hands. I really don't think that deal was about competition or "sticking it to Steam", it was just greed by Deep Silver.

But but it was $10 cheaper vs steam. So I don’t think this was totally greed. To me if it’s the same product and cheaper on my wallet. Steam can suck it.

It is greed. The publisher gets a kickback and Epic gets to be the only available platform for the game on PC. If it was about the consumers or developers, you would put the game on the open market and let the consumers choose.

Tencent doesn't own Epic. There have been refunds for a while and they updated their refund policy to match Steam, they are also rolling out an automated refund system. They added offline mode last week or the week before. Other issues still stand. The Epic Store needs a ton of work, but they do seem to be receptive to working them (or, at least, some of them).

I welcome another store on the market as competition.

What needs to end are store exclusives. From all parties. Valve has been guilty of this as well.

I should be able to pick my preferred store, and use it to buy any game of my choice.

In the mean time I guess I will just have to vote with my wallet. There is literally no game, no matter how interested I am in it that will convince me to install another store client. None. Will never happen. I'll stop gaming all together before I do.

Since 2003 when Steam first launched I have not bought a single game outside of Steam, and I am not about to start now. And I buy a lot of games. So if they don't want me as a customer, I guess that is their choice.

I mean, Steam is a pretty good and well laid out store, but there really isn't anything about it that makes me loyal to steam. If I were starting from scratch today, I'd be open to using one of the other stores. I just don't want to have more than one client installed on my machine, and Steam is already where my library resides.

Does end user save money? Is steam greedy for charging 30%? Isi it greed to make more money from your product while it being cheaper for the end user? By that means All corporations are greedy I guess but what the end user pays is what it boils down to. I have most of my catalog on steam. But I am not going to throw this tamper tantrum over steam vs epic. I guess steam has never had any exclusives right?

You are right it should be available everywhere but the sad part is steam just has the greatest hold on market. It’s gojng to be a bitch fight to make this shit work lol. There are really not many ways to do it though. Steam will always charge crazy fees until they actually see they get great competition. It’s even harder because steam has hardcore fans. But they are only hurting their wallet.

You welcome other competition yet no matter what you will refuse to support it? Attitudes like that are why Epic is making these shitty exclusivity deals. I don't like them either, but people have chained themselves to Steam and completely refuse to support other services. GOG, probably the most pro-consumer digital store out there right now, hasn't gotten to the point of being any real competition for Steam because of attitudes like yours. Chaining yourself to a single platform is bad for the industry. Having a single company control virtually the entire digital market for an open platform for like the PC is bad for that market. Estimates put Steam's control of the digital market at up to 70%. They have a virtual monopoly on the PC market. This is not good. I hate that Epic is buying exclusives, but I totally understand why they're going that route. Too many people "support" competition without actually getting off their ass and supporting it.

So you believe this "fight" against steam is justified even if it's hurting the developers? Again, it's the developers that are getting fucked over this deal. The publishers are the ones pocketing the money. You seem to be ignoring that fact every time you reply. But I guess the ends justify the means huh?

Also it looks like people would rather spend the extra $10 for a platform that isn't shitty. Here's a quick review I found on the Epic launcher.

"Reasons not to use Epic Store:

They have terrible security (80 million accounts were exposed last week)

They have terrible customer service (just google it)

Games are more expensive on Epic due to regional pricing

You can't play games offline

Limited social features

No screenshots

No controller support

They broke EU laws (and still do)

Scummy tactics (you had to tick a box to opt out of emails etc)

They are partially owned by Tencent (a company that sells user data to the Chinese government)

No achievements

No cloud saves

No game forums (many people went to steam for subnautica support)

Epic make you pay the transaction fee when purchasing games

They are anti-consumer (They pay for exclusive rights to games to try and force you to use their store)

They can refuse refunds even if you meet the criteria

No reviews

No Linux support

No Preload"

Each individual decides for themselves. All I do is play the game. None of those things matter to me. I only buy games I want to play so refund is never and issue for me. I am mostly a single player. Forums etc are non issue here. Understand your concern though. Clearly not for you. Cheers.

Well said. I get tired of steam of nothing. If its not on steam I am not buying attitude. I have seen so much of that. Yes, steam is better but no one will ever be able to compete if we bend over backward for steam.

You put it well. This is exactly why you will get exclusives outside of steam. Because people truly don't want any competition in this space. Why would there any other store exist if they know you are not buying from them. This is the only reason EPIC is going all out because they know all about the steam or nothing mentality. You want competition but you would quit gaming if the game wasn't on steam? Do you realize how tied you are to steam yet you are unwilling to support competiton? Competition doesn't happen if it gets no support. That's just how it is. So expect more of this shit. EPIC has the money to do it so they will. because they know they will get no love otherwise.

In an era of big data it is in everyone's best interest to have as few "clients" or apps installed as possible on their computers/phones/tables/devices and as few accounts online as possible.

Thing is, I wouldn't even buy any Ubisoft titles, even though they are in Steam, because they usually require you to run and sign in to the Uplay client. I do not want any more clients. Having me buy it in Steam and then have to use a separate client doesn't improve things.

I'm not a huge fan of Steam. It's just a store. I could go either way, but I won't have more than one, and I already have countless titles in Steam, so I am not about to abandon it.

I like GOG. Their DRM-free philosophy really appeals to me. Their catalog is somewhat limited though.

I agree with you that competition won't happen if there is no support, but there is no reason why I have to be that support.

I may be mostly locked into Steam at this point due to my library I already own, and my unwillingness to have more than one client, but there are lots of young kids who are starting out now who don't have this issue. They are starting with a blank slate, and their first store will probably be Epic due to how popular Fortnite is among that age group.

In a way I envy their blank slate and ability to freely choose.

Exclusives are not the solution to competition, and they are not necessary for competition. They are the antithesis of competition. Essentially, a form of monopoly.

If the privacy and account security issues are sorted then I will take another look.

I did read that apparently all games (not sure if Exodus is included) on the Epic store so far can be zipped up and run without the launcher even installed (executable with -epicportal).
That's probably not intentional and might be patched out eventually, but if true that works for me lol.
